Phill Bird is on the air with 'something a little bit different' 8 til 10 this evening.. chat and tunes (all handpicked) from the 1950s to current day. In the last portion of the second hour he's playing out an edited interview he did with one of the very early volunteers of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway back in 2016, Bob Mackintosh. We heard the awful news on Friday that, following an illness, Bob has sadly passed away. Bob Mack was there in the very beginning of the saving of The Honeybourne Line, attending those early meetings before the trackbed was purchased from British Rail. He was an extremely loyal volunteer for almost 44 years (the full interview can be heard here https://www.mixcloud.com/radiowinchcombe/something-a-little-bit-different-1976-winchcombe-derailment-forming-of-the-gwr-sun-aug-21-2016/ ). We end the show with two tracks from the late Marianne Faithfull as we hear she has sadly passed aged 78. 106.9 & 107.1FM, on smart speakers 'play Radio Winchcombe' and online www.radiowinchcombe.co.uk (will be on listen again later tonight)
