The Trusty Tractor, produced by Tractors (London) Ltd from the 1930s until 1962, was a versatile two-wheeled agricultural machine designed for smallholders and gardeners. Over its production span, it utilized various engines, including those from Villiers, J*P, and notably, the Norton Big 4.

The Norton Big 4 engine, a 633cc side-valve single-cylinder unit, was originally developed for motorcycles and later adapted for industrial applications. In the Trusty Tractor, this engine was modified to include a cooling fan and cowling to prevent overheating during stationary operations. The engine's robust design provided sufficient power for tasks such as plowing, cultivating, and towing.

The Trusty Tractor's straightforward construction featured a three-speed gearbox and was compatible with various attachments, enhancing its utility in different agricultural tasks. Its reliability and adaptability made it a popular choice among small-scale farmers and horticulturists.

Today, Trusty Tractors equipped with Norton Big 4 engines are considered valuable by vintage machinery enthusiasts. Clubs like the Vintage Horticultural and Garden Machinery Club (VHGMC) maintain registers of surviving models and provide resources for restoration and preservation.

1914 Morgan Three-Wheeler walk around, start up and run at Leonardslee Gardens, which is the halfway point of the Sunbeam Motor Cycle Club's 2024 Pioneer Run.

Engine in this machine is a 964cc V-twin cylinder.

The 1914 Morgan V-Twin is an iconic three-wheeler, known for its lightweight design and impressive performance. Powered by a J.A.P. (or Peugeot) V-twin engine, typically around 1000cc, it produced 8-11 horsepower. With its steel tube chassis and open body style, it weighed just 300-350 kg, making it nimble and fast for its time. Its innovative sliding pillar front suspension and two-speed transmission added to its racing success. Affordable and classified as a motorcycle, it offered a thrilling alternative to four-wheeled cars, paving the way for Morgan’s legacy in motorsport.

Location for this video is Leonardslee Garden, Lower Beeding, Horsham, England, UK.

Thanks to Paul Bullock and thee rest of the Sunbeam Motor Cycle Club’s crew for having us along to their event.

In this video, we showcase the iconic 1972 Suzuki T500 Titan, a legendary two-stroke motorcycle that defined an era. With its 493cc parallel twin engine producing 47 horsepower and a top speed of over 100 miles per hour, the T500 earned a reputation for reliability and power. Known for its twin exhausts, drum brakes, and classic spoked wheels, this bike was a favorite for long-distance riders, particularly outside Japan, in markets like the United States, Europe, and the UK.

Watch as we do a walkaround of this beautifully preserved classic, fire up its unmistakable two-stroke engine, and take it on the Kop Hill Climb. Hear the distinct growl of the T500 Titan as it showcases the torque and smooth power delivery that made it a favorite in its day. Whether you’re a vintage bike enthusiast or just love the sound of two-stroke engines, the Suzuki T500 Titan still turns heads and hearts, nearly 50 years after it first hit the road.

1973 Offenstadt Kawasaki 500 monocoque racer (500cc air cool parallel twin cylinder engine).

The French machine was built by Eric Offenstadt in 1973 and features Eric’s own monocoque alloy frame and wheels. He had raced a similar monocoque-framed machine in 1971 but found the three-cylinder air-cooled Kawasaki 500 too wide so he switched to a 750 triple engine with the ’73 bike, removing one cylinder to create a unique 500cc twin.

Norton John Player racing motorcycles - 1973 Monocoque frame and 1974 Spaceframe.

The John Player Norton motorcycles were a series of Formula 750 racers manufactured by Norton Motorcycle Company from 1972 to 1974 and sponsored by cigarette manufacturer John Player.

The engines on these machines were derived from Norton Commandos. At the time the Commando engines lacked power compared to other manufacturers which led to them to adopt this radical approach to chassis design.

There's not enough room here in the description but some really interesting detail over on Wikipedia on these bikes if you're interested under 'John Player Norton'.
