Good Afternoon,

Yesterday 17/04/2024 Officers from Hedge End North Neighbourhood Policing Team and Hedge End District Policing Team assisted colleagues from roads policing after a vehicle failed to stop for them.

Hedge End officers were made aware at approximately 15:00 hours that a vehicle had failed to stop for roads policing units in the Hedge End area, the occupants of the vehicle had then ran from the vehicle. Roads Policing officers were quick to detain two of the people from the vehicle after a foot chase which included garden hopping! A description was given to Officers of the outstanding suspect and Hedge End Officers assisted in locating this person. Hedge End District Policing Team stopped a male matching the description not far away from where the vehicle had been left.

Hedge End neighbourhood officers assisted in a search of the vehicle that the males had ran from, inside the vehicle a large quantity of cannabis and money. Under the bonnet of the car there was some taped wirings that lead to the front lights of the vehicle, a remote control was located in the vehicle which could be used to activate blue and red flashing lights in the front of the vehicle.

All three male occupants of the vehicle were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class B drug. The driver was also arrested for driving otherwise in accordance with a license, driving without insurance and failing to stop.

The vehicle was seized by police and the investigation is ongoing

Hedge End police..

Yesterday Officers from Hedge End North Neighbourhood Policing Team responded to reports of youths in possession of catapults, pointing these towards properties and animals.

Officers spotted the group but they all they ran in different directions, PC NEWELL was quick on his feet and detained one of the males.

The male was searched and found to be in possession of two catapults and a large quantity of metal ball bearings.

items were seized and will be disposed of.

Bursledon Windmill closed to the public due to financial difficulties

Bursledon Windmill has closed to the public after the county council approved Hampshire Cultural Trust’s plan to cut funding.

The trust notified Hampshire County Council to withdraw from Bursledon Windmill, just off Junction 8 of the M27 between Southampton and Portsmouth, in September 2023. The notice period ended last Sunday, March 31.

❗️⚠️ Hampshire County Council says it's now likely to be early June before the A334 Charles Watts Way fully reopens. The road is currently closed eastbound from the Kanes Hill roundabout to Junction 7 M27 roundabout. HCC says the landslip was much deeper than expected and work has been affected by adverse weather. UK firm sells Hedge End industrial site to UAE for £5.7m

A UK property firm has sold an industrial site in Hedge End to an undisclosed private company in the United Arab Emirates for £5.7m.

TT Group, formerly known as Telereal Trillium, is one of the UK’s largest privately owned property investment and development firms.

In December 2022, the Solent Trading Estate in Shamblehurst Lane was acquired by TT Group’s property investment team.

It has now announced it has sold the industrial site in Hedge End for £5.7m.

The 1.85-acre site is spilt into two self-contained units – with Unit 30 being let long-term to Sentry Self Storage Limited, a family-owned self-storage business established in 1988.

In June 2023, TT Group announced that it had secured the international freight forwarder, Active Freight Management, as a new tenant for Unit 29.

This agreement is on a 10-year lease at a rent of £196,950 per annum.

Other occupiers in the area include Screwfix, Wickes, DPD and Magnet, as well as those at the nearby Hedge End Retail Park including Sainsbury’s and Marks & Spencer.

New Greggs opens at former Pizza Hut store in Hedge End

The store, on the site at Hedge End Trade Park previously occupied by Pizza Hut, Gourmet 4 food hall and KFC, has created 15 jobs.

Open from 6am to 9pm daily, customers can grab a freshly made bake or sweet treat on the go, make use of the comfortable seating or click and collect a takeaway order via the Greggs app.
