***Album Release***
Deadlight Dance are delighted to announce that their latest venture βthe Wiltshire Gothicβ is coming out on Good Friday, 29th March 2024. It is possibly our most ambitious project.
In late November, we met up with Mooncalf Studio (audio) and Haunting the Atom (visuals) to record some acoustic covers in an old Saxon Church (All Saintsβ Church in Alton Priors, Wiltshire). The majority of instrumentation was done on a mandocello and a mandolin. The songs are some of our favourites by The Cure, The Cult, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Fields of the Nephilim, Joy Division and others. They are not like-for-like copies but songs that have stayed in our DNA for years.
A short film about the making of the record will be streaming on YouTube from that date (link nearer the time!) and the album will be streaming on all the usual platforms, via Ray Records. We have once again pressed a limited edition CD that will be available exclusively from the band. Our pre-order is here

As today is Bandcamp Friday, 100% profit goes to the band (which is always recycled into us doing more!). Orders will be posted out as soon as practicable. As per last time, weβll no doubt be putting a few extras in with any physical copies sold (badges etc).
The whole project is effectively a love letter to our youth, growing up in Wiltshire, discovering friendships and ultimately ourselves through the music. Our eternal thanks to Mooncalf and Haunting the Atom for their assistance in helping to capture the best of an enjoyable day.
