OUT NOW! A brand new single - April Showers
Please share, listen and let me know what you think!
I've decided to release a series of 6 new singles over the coming months. Some are brand new originals and others are covers from my live set. The plan is to release these online one at a time over the coming months then compile them together into a physical EP which will be for sale online and at gigs next year.
Alongside each of these tracks, I've commissioned a linoprint by Coventry based artist Alix Almond - Linocut, printing and art work This is second so far, I love it! The handmade prints are now available to buy on our websites.
Number 2 of 6 is an original song I wrote while living in Aberystwyth. Having left Aberdeen, I moved in with my partner, (now wife) Steph while she finished her degree. We lived in what was probably the cheapest flat available there, which we affectionately now refer to as the cave. It was so damp, the landlord employed a guy to come every couple of months to paint over the bitchumen seeping in through the kitchen wall. The bitchumen did NOT help with the damp...
The song is largely about waiting for the good times, in the face of 'bad weather'. The idea came to me after realising we were still having 'April showers' in June!
Fun fact - there are more species of lichens and mosses in Wales then there are ANYWHERE else in the world, I wonder why?
