Yesterday we attended Last Train Home Festival by Tracks and Hilarity Bites Comedy Club, what an amazing day it was as always with a wide array of musicial and comedy acts.
We can't stress enough how much work, time and effort the 'Tracks' collaborative teams put in to create and curate on the local music scene.
Top efforts as always.
It makes us think as our rebranded name suggests, our radio show needs a

Gig days make us feel like bringing the radio show back.
It's all rebranded and just waiting for the right time.
Decisions to be thought about.

When Tracks organise a gig it pays to attend especially when it's a free gig, you get to experience some extraordinary talent.
India Arkin and her band could and should be recording artists, they have just lit up today's event in Darlington.
Moon Wax, ZELA and AVALANCHE PARTY still to come.
Live, unsigned, free music until 8pm tonight in Darlington.

We are in Darlington today to support our friends Tracks hosting a free live music festival until 8pm tonight.
Really impressed by a local Darlington band Pink Moon who have just finished their set, great sound, five lads who know their craft and know how to bring it 🔊
Up next an artist we have featured on our show many times James Leonard Hewitson.

Ending our Last Train Home Festival we took a recommendation from former featured artists of the show Jodie Nicholson and Joe Ramsey and headed to The Hullabaloo to watch Birmingham musician Liz Lawrence close the 'Noisy Daughters' stage.
A quite fitting close as Liz and her band brought a sense of style and allure to their polished yet immense performance.
Roll on next year Tracks a great day had by all. 🚂 🎵

What we love and enjoy most about Last Train Home Festival is how brilliantly it is all put together with collaborations from creatives of both music and comedy.
We know the guys behind both Tracks and Hilarity Bites Comedy Club and appreciate just how hard each work to put on an event of this magnitude for the benefit of the region.
'Last Train Home Festival' is a celebration of all things creative, with a diverse mix of genres of music complimented by rip roaring laughter from upcoming and established comedians.
Alongside attending numerous musical performances across the day we dropped in to check out a few comedians too, including Andy Fury, Catherine Young Comedy and Bryan James Comedy.
For all future comedy events please check out Hilarity Bites for further information.

At yesterday's Last Train Home Festival we managed to catch the back end of the performance by Leeds band L'objectif at The Forum Music Centre.
The room was jam-packed and standing room at the entrances was all that was left available.
Another band that were all action and definitely a name to look out for.

Another artist we were excited to see play live was Northern Ireland singer/songwriter ROE.
Flying into the Last Train Home Festival within the early hours of Saturday morning her audience were treated to a highly polished performance with both guitar and piano accompaniment.
Roe was another artist that has featured on our show before and it was great to finally see her perform live within the region.

Sometimes during a festival you discover a new artist that you may not have ever discovered before.
For us yesterday it was Me Lost Me from the first few bars of their first track, they captivated and memorised from that moment to their last.
An artist that we would love to see live all over again.

After seeing who was due to perform at this year's Last Train Home Festival we therefore couldn't afford to not take in the performance of local artist Shakk.
Also now the voice and presenter of BBC Music Introducing on Radio Tees, Shakk is such a consistent and energetic performer that leaves his audience always wanting more from solid production and well written verses.

We headed back to St John's Church for another special performance on high recommendation from Butterfly Effect to see Nel Unlit perform.
Like many artists they have been on our radar but we have only just managed to see this group perform live.
A super talented group who found the perfect stage in which to perform in.

We have seen Komparrison play numerous times across the region as a duo with well written songs and catchy choruses.
Yesterday we saw them for the first time as a 5-piece and wow what a transformation.
As a two piece they were good before but now as a five piece they have gone up in levels.
A band that leaves everything on the stage, their performance and song choices just got better and better as they performed through their set.

Next we made the short dash in the rain back to The Forum Music Centre to see part of a former featured artist of our show Joe Ramsey.
It was the first time we have managed to see Joe and his band perform live.
In our opinion Joe was one of the hardest working and creative musicians who was actively visible online throughout the lockdown period and it shows with his strong songwriting and performance levels.

During each Last Train Home Festival we attend, we often try to pack in as much as we can to watch and then share as many artists as possible.
Next we managed to squeeze in part of Darlington artist Viia performance, who we have been recommended so often to go and see.
Viia was an artist performing at The Hullabaloo as part of the NARC. Magazine stage.
Again an artist that packed out the room with an explosive performance.
Another well worth watching.

What can we say about this artist and this band!?!
Sarah Johnsone Music hailing from the North East really made and impression, by the end of the their performance there was only standing room left available and not very much left of that.
As musicians, each individual are exceptional at their craft and together they bring a sound that leaves you wanting even more.
Watch out for the name and make sure you attend their future gigs to appreciate exactly what their room witnessed yesterday.
Really impressive.

Next up we stayed in St John's Church to watch the performance from Teesside artist Harriet Bradshaw as she took her audience through a spellbinding gig with undertones not too dissimilar to Kate Bush esk.
With all festivals it gives the audience an opportunity to discover new artists and Harriet is now someone on our radar.

Opening Last Train Home Festival this year was local artist Caitlin Morrow Music alongside her band at the beautiful and acoustically pleasing St John's Church in Darlington.
We have seen Caitlin perform a few times in different venues across Darlington in the last few years, but this was the first time we had the opportunity to watch her perform with a full band.
Caitlin is a very consistent artist and alongside her band enhanced each track and performance with their array of stunning harmonies.

Yesterday we attended Last Train Home Festival as gig goers catching up with many artists that have once featured on our show, alongside introducing ourselves to lots of brand new artists who are new to us.
Like all good festivals the struggle is always very real trying to be everywhere at once but over the course of today we will share with you music from 12 of the 28 artists that we managed to fit in.
For all music artist performances head over to Tracks and NARC. Magazine to follow their updates.
We even managed to take in a couple of comedian performances, for more updates on the comedy section of the festival, check out Hilarity Bites Comedy Club.

Last night we were in Newcastle attending a Pillar Artists gig featuring Bosola Salsola Peach St and Uncle Dudeman at a great venue for live music Head of Steam Newcastle.
It was great to finally attend a Pillar Artists gig after Jay Landman has been a regular guest of our show.
Each band showcasing their individual flair and talent to make their unique sound.
Featured Artist 'Salsola' were also on the bill, we have a love for their track 'Cass', however it was great to see their progressive sounds taking a funky tone throughout many of their newer tracks.
Below is a track from the evening from Liverpool band 'Peach St'.
Live music is where it is always at.

#MentalHealthAwareness
On tomorrow night's show after some deliberation I decided to address why we took a break as a show for the last 5-weeks. It's too important not to share. #MentalHealthAwareness #AlwaysAskTwice #LetsTalkItOut
#MentalHealthAwareness
From our last post almost a full month ago, we decided as a show to press pause, as difficult a decision that was to be, it was the right one. We spoke about how the last 12 months have proved to be difficult and challenging mentally and how we hoped we could return sooner, rather than later. The good news is the show will return, but how to announce it and explain the pause has played on my mind somewhat. I've been reminded throughout the last few weeks, the difference we each make as people and how we carry ourselves which sometimes holds no meaning to us, means a whole lot more to those who do know us, or those people who admire us. Embrace the compliments. Last month I had a setback within my health, I took immediate action to step away from the things I love and enjoy most, in order to give myself some breathing space, gain some strength back and recover. The reason for including this particular video talking about my own mental health is because each of those that watch it can see exactly the person behind the mic, laid bare. It's a video I self recorded a little over a year ago, in the last couple of weeks I've been reminded how powerful it was not only to talk about but also to share. Your own personal health, whether that be mental or physical is of most paramount importance. If you are struggling, you're not alone, you are never alone and there is always someone that will listen to you. Don't allow your demons to cloud who you are. Speak out about mental health! A final point I'd like to talk about is Bishop FM. I personally fell into radio, media and broadcasting, it wasn't something I ever considered before, I was scouted to some degree based on other projects I had and was working on. Being involved in radio, certainly at that time gave me some valuable routine and purpose. And who knew that I would love it as much as I do. Live broadcasting, in my experience nothing beats it, no margin for error, you just deliver. The adrenali

The Indie Show
Join Andrew Corry every Tuesday evening from 7pm for Bishop FM’s Indie Show!
Since starting The Indie Show – Bishop FM back in September 2017, it’s been our long term project to help musicians and bands have a voice, and an opportunity to be heard.
We have featured over 40 different unsigned artists during our first year, and that number will continue to grow.
Predominantly, most have been musicians from the North East of England, but as our show has developed and grown, we have also shared with our listeners bands and musicians from both the UK and Internationally too.
It is important that bands and artists recognise that through Bishop FM and ‘The Indie Show’, not only do we want to feature their music, but continue to support them playing future singles and EP releases.
Alongside this project, we keep the show balanced with mainstream Indie classics and listener requests.
With this, it is great to see recognised International bands acknowledge our show; a simple like goes a long way, so thank you once again to The Wombats, The Sherlocks and The Divine Comedy for their support.
We’re on air every Tuesday evening from 7pm; you just never know who might be listening.
