The Northern Lights over Chard - 11th May 2024.
A very rare moment in time when the Aurora Borealis was visible this far south in the UK.
This video was shot over a number of hours across various sites around Chard, Somerset. Taken as raw still images and then subsequently composited into a selection of time-lapses.
Watch with the volume up!

So as one half of Warner Vision, alongside my wife Becki, I thought I'd introduce myself and what I do for a living, by way of a short video - if you have 1-minute spare I'd be honoured if you could take a look. Suffice to say I've been producing corporate video and photographic content for well over 20-years professionally. So if want your brand, message, values, event, or initiative brought to life visually then get in touch anytime!
For those that are interested I recorded myself in my home studio on a green-screen and edited it all into 3D environments - no AI was used in this edit! All the equipment you see is kit we own for the business.

Here's an edited film of the Milky-Way rising over Chard Reservoir a few night's ago - shot between 2.30 and 5am. The core of the Milky-Way re-appears at this time of year, having dipped below the horizon in the Northern Hemisphere during the winter months. Be sure to watch with the volume up, as it's been edited to music as usual.

My favourite image so far in my new deep-sky imaging hobby.
Taken on Monday night from our garden - the horsehead and flame nebulas also found in the Orion constellation. 75-minute exposure (plus darks, flats and bias frames). Edited in ASI Studio, Siril and Photoshop.

The Andromeda galaxy. Our nearest “neighbour”. Recorded a couple of nights ago from our back garden.
Shot 34x180-second exposures with my astro-modified Sony A7S mark 1, Sony 200-600 lens (at 600mm), ZWO AM3 mount, ZWO ASIair Plus, ZWO 30F4 Guide scope, ZWO ASI220MM Mini Guide camera and Optolong L-Pro filter.
Stacked and edited using a combination of ASI Studio, Siril and Photoshop. Video combined in Premiere.

Recently purchased a tracking & guiding mount for our camera equipment to shoot the night-sky. First time using it last night, managed to get this from about 2-hours capture (the clouds put paid to a longer exposure). Hoping to improve on this result with more practice over this year. The software allowed me to separate the stars from the Orion Nebula, which allowed me to add a motion effect. Edited to music.

A video we created of the Yeovil Recreation Centre for South Somerset District Council (as it was known then) about 4 years ago was featured yesterday on BBC Spotlight, as part of a segment about Somerset Council having to make cut-backs, including the possibility of stopping the funding of sports facilities, which is sad news. But it's nice to see our work featured all the same. The video also appears on the homepage of the facilities' website:

Hi all, I thought I'd say a quick hello and welcome to 2024. In case you thought I'd disappeared, well that's because I decided to take a break from social media back in the Spring. So sorry that this is the first post in over 9 months!
But we had an extremely busy 2023, had non-stop work, corporate video, live streams and photography. We're very grateful for the business we had from our lovely clients and look forward to carrying on in 2024.
We took a holiday a couple of weeks ago, to get some winter sun in Tenerife. I managed to capture three short night-sky time-lapses, just simple ones from our hotel balcony and one on a tour we took up the volcano. Here's a short edit set to music. I'll try to post more content this year! All the best for 2024.
