🇷🇴❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Being a heart emigrant, means living between two worlds: my birth country and the one I now call home. When I moved to Edinburgh in 2011, there wasn't a Romanian Orthodox community, so I joined the Greek Orthodox one. They welcomed me with open arms, but I still missed the familiar feel and language of my own community.

💒 Then, in 2014, something wonderful happened—the first Orthodox Easter celebration at St. John’s in Edinburgh! My heart felt so full that day, and with every service that followed and each cup of tea shared with fellow Romanians and not only, I felt more at home and began to put down roots strong enough to keep me from longing to return to Romania. And seeing the community grow has been extraordinary.

🙏 The Romanian Orthodox Church has become such a special place for us. It’s where we’ve asked friends to be our godparents, where our children have been baptized, and where a dear friend became a priest. It truly is a source of peace and inner search for me. And our priest, Ioan Florin, has been a father to us all, knowing exactly what to say and standing by everyone with a strength that is beyond comprehension to me, as a human.

💗 Last Sunday, we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Romanian Orthodox Church in Edinburgh, and I was gifted a plaque in appreciation for my and my husband's support in its growth. I feel so humbled and grateful and pray that God continues to give us the strength to grow together in faith and love. Amen.

📑 Malcolm Gladwell popularized the idea that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to master a skill in his book, Outliers: The Story of Success. The "10,000-hour rule" suggests that to become an expert, one needs to dedicate this amount of time to deliberate practice in their field.

🎓 Fast forward 15 years since I studied marketing at university, I've worked at three companies and assisted over 300 businesses through Media Bloom. I've also attended countless events in the social media domain, staying updated on the latest trends and applying my knowledge in practice. I estimate that I've accumulated around 26,000 hours of experience (yes, I’ve taken into account maternity leave, leisure time, and holidays). And my journey doesn't stop here. Social media is continually changing and evolving, and I’m excited to keep learning and growing alongside it.

I first met Cristina when I was just seven years old! 🌟 We went to the same primary school and then ended up in the same high school class. She was one of those effortlessly popular girls, while I was a bit shy (hello, shyness! my old friend). But despite her popularity, Cristina was always so kind and supportive, and we created some wonderful memories together. 💛

Every time I visit my hometown, it feels like no time has passed since we last caught up. It’s so sweet that our kids even became friends this summer! 🥰

When Cristina reached out for social media advice and help to find her online voice, I was absolutely thrilled! 🎉 She’s one of those amazing souls who just needs a little boost of confidence, and I wholeheartedly believe she can shine! ✨

✨ Is Netflix spying?

Two days ago, I spotted a character on a TV show ( in 'The Cuckoo') wearing the exact same top I own! I got so excited—I just had to share it with my friends. But Netflix’s screenshot block threw a wrench in my plans! 😅 So, I grabbed my husband’s phone, rewind to the scene, recorded it, sent it to myself on WhatsApp, and finally shared it. All that work really took the sparkle out of the moment, but… still, my fashion twin on TV? Hooray.

And here’s some good news from Netflix: the pause screen will soon have a new “Moments” option, which, when tapped, will let you create a clip of the scene you're watching! For all of us who discover new shows through reels, and from a social media point of view, this is a game-changer. Can’t wait for this to roll out and make sharing our favourite moments a breeze!

👻 With Halloween around the corner, and as most companies are brewing up themed marketing campaigns, I thought I'd share a seasonal post about the spooky things that can happen when you let your social media presence fade away.

Sure, don't just post for the sake of posting, but don't leave it completely. Even an hour a week can make a difference. Think about what your customers should know about your business, recent achievements, or helpful information they'd love. Create that content and get it scheduled – stay on top of your community's mind!

I recently saw a review summary feature on TripAdvisor and thought I'd try it for my LinkedIn recommendations with the help of ChatGPT.

Reading this, I feel incredibly humbled. I admit that, on the tougher days in business, these kind words are what fuel me to keep going. My clients' appreciation for the dedication, passion, and results I aim to deliver keeps me motivated and inspired. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their experience!

Something I’ve rarely shared but I think it's worth it—In 2022, I was featured in a book along with other incredible people! No, you can’t get an autograph 😂, as it was only printed in a limited edition for those involved and their families.

🇷🇴 The book celebrates the success stories of Romanians in Scotland, and it began as a YouTube interview series (DM me if you'd like the link; there are fantastic people with amazing achievements). I’m beyond proud to be part of it (so are my sons 👨‍👦‍👦), and it serves as a meaningful testament to my work that I’ll pass on to my children. Proudly wearing The Spirit of Romania tartan by International Tartans. 🏴

🗺️ In today’s digital world, online reviews are my go-to for choosing new places.

Personally, I rely on Google for restaurants, hotels, and beauty services, while TripAdvisor helps me find great spots to visit. It’s amazing how a few ratings can guide me to hidden gems and avoid potential letdowns. So take action and invite those lovely customers to leave you a review!

According to Social Media Today, becoming a successful social media marketer requires mastering a blend of high-level skills, including writing, analytics, design, and video creation.

✅ After nearly 15 years in the field, I can confidently say I’ve not only mastered these nine essential skills but have gone beyond. 🪨 I took this photo yesterday during a pilgrimage to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne—a powerful experience shared as a community with the Romanian Orthodox Church in Edinburgh group and as a family. From my perspective, the beach, dotted with countless piles of rocks, felt like a visual testament to the strength of faith—solid and enduring.

🙏 But just like these stone stacks, faith needs a strong foundation; without it, everything can collapse. Faith has been my rock through both good and difficult moments, grounding me in life’s uncertainties. This moment captured on Lindisfarne is a reminder of how vital it is to build and maintain a firm spiritual foundation ✨.
