✨️198th RSA Annual Exhibition 2024✨️
We were very honoured to have been invited to exhibit the collaboration and process behind A Fragile Correspondence at this year's 's annual exhibition. Convened by , this year's theme 'Critical Action' contextualises our work as architects against some of society's greatest challenges and opportunities. The exhibition features brilliant, tastefully curated work and we encourage everyone to visit it!

🍉
As curators of an exhibition exploring land, language, architecture and the environments, it is important for us to draw attention to the unjust ways in which the relationship with land and power politics are playing out in the world at present. Our collectives express solidarity to all people suffering under oppression and occupation, and we would like to once again draw attention to the situation in Palestine. We proudly support Architecture Scotland Alliance for Palestine (ASAP) and encourage everyone to engage in critical discourse on the above topics.

Architecture Scotland Alliance for Palestine
-
Read our full statement and join us at bit.ly/asap_asap

We are a grassroots alliance of organisations, networks, collectives and individuals united in solidarity with the people of Palestine. We study, work and volunteer across architecture in Scotland. Architecture, and the control of land, are political and always have been. We recognise that in education, training and practice architecture continues to be regularly co-opted and deployed as a tool of settler-colonialism, cultural erasure, capital extraction and political ecocide.

We hope that through this alliance we will encourage people in architecture to speak-up and take a stand. This alliance welcomes all, and we encourage you to join us.

We were thrilled to receive an invitation from .strath to present A Fragile Correspondence as part of their Thursday Lecture Series. 🍂 With -ism having emerged within the confines of the University of Strathclyde, we were uplifted by the presence of many familiar faces, as well as some of the contributors to our magazine issues.

The project was presented by co-curators Alissar Riachi, Mia Pinder-Hussein, Neil McGuire and Alyesha Choudhury. The discussion ended by highlighting responsibility in architecture, appraising the relationship between decolonisation and decarbonisation, as well as emphasizing importance of collective action and young voices in the profession.

Thank you .strath for having us!

We were delighted to take part in Found in Translation: Architecture, Land, Landscape, Language with some of our Venice friends 🍂 ✨

The event was hosted by Scotland+Venice and curated by A Fragile Correspondence and Dualchas. It expanded on the themes of architecture, land, landscape and language, which are common to both A Fragile Correspondence and Dualchas's presentation in the Arsenale.

The event was joined by the Austrian Pavilion, Orizzontale, the Lithuanian Pavilion and author Cal Flyn. Through creating space for dialogue between a range of different projects, Found in Translation asked how a closer reading of land and landscape can help architecture adapt to the changing world of the climate emergency, through helping the profession evolve and recalibrate in this context.

Thank you to everyone who joined the Scotland+Venice venue and for our wee wander to the Lithuanian Pavilion.

The event was supported by Creative Scotland and Architecture & Design Scotland.

Learning from others has been a key part of our process for issue 03: identity, which activated us to pursue new means of engaging with the very organisations and people that have inspired us. We therefore decided to expose the opinions and perspectives of a variety of voices that emerged to celebrate diversity, culture and the environment, through a new section within the publication: the micro interviews.

In this post we feature interviews with MatriArch, Muslim Women in Architecture, Marc Cairns and FAME Collective.
