It’s a big week for team Minnie - we are off to the BDS Annual Show tomorrow at Smiths Lawn Guards Polo Club in Windsor, Royal Norfolk on Wednesday and then to Sandringham for CIAT Attelege event on Friday/Sat/Sun! Cleaning carriage, harness and packing … it’s all go 🙂

This is FASCINATING! Please read if you at all interested in the welfare of our sports horses and want to understand what's happening to them when they attend events and are stabled in a different environment.

A chance encounter at an event got the ball rolling: Birgit Rosenberg, Member of the Managing Board of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein (ALRV), and Prof. Dr. Dirk Winter started talking about the topic of the scientific examination of animal welfare. Several telephone calls and a few months later...

For those taking part in the BDS Meet & Drive tomorrow @ Royal Windsor, please note the following times which have been brought forward since you were last notified.

10.15 am Gather & Safety Check @ Grass Warm Up Arena
11.00 am Depart for Drive

You will be emailed by the office about this. Please note at the moment the route to the Warm Up Arena from the parking area for the initial inspection is the same but should this change you will be emailed again.

At all times, proceed across the showground IN WALK and respect other competitors, horses and members of the public. Allow enough time to get to the Warm Up Arena from the horseboxes and follow the arrows.

Our groundwork and operation teams continue to work incredibly hard to maintain good ground here at Royal Windsor Horse Show 👍🏼

Competitors have already begun arriving onto the Showground this morning where conditions remain good for driving and parking horseboxes and trailers.

However, should we be required at any point to assist you upon entry or exit from the Showground please have located your towing eye before heading to the Show. This will help keep traffic flowing.

We look forward to welcoming you all to day two of Royal Windsor Horse Show 2024, and wish our competitors the best of luck!

!! IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THE PRIVATE DRIVING CLASSES @ RWHS TODAY !!

Due to the overnight rain we are not able to use the planned route via the grass by the water obstacle to get safely to the Adelaide Arena. Instead you will continue on the road until you reach ‘Double Cottage’ then turn right, past the FEI Dressage arena, and join the showground again via Blue Gate. The Warm Up Arena is on your left. PLEASE STAY ON THE TARMAC AT ALL TIMES.

Please ensure you allow plenty of time to be at the Warm Up Arena for pre-judging 20 minutes before your class commences.

The route will be signed.

The Indoor Finals are underway at Arena UK and it's all hands to the deck to build and dress the obstacles. In the meantime, the Precision & Paces tests are well underway.
Cones are outside and a testing course is proving challenging … regular updates available as well as obstacles coverage on Horse and Country TV and there will be more from us at The CC as the weekend progresses.
