Here we go! England travel to Dublin on Saturday and here is some key info for fans making the trip.

𝐄𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠
We’d normally, and sometimes jokingly advise where the Irish bar is wherever we travel, however for this one, forgive us if we don’t list them all…

Many fans are likely to head to the Temple Bar area of Dublin, but there are plenty of places and plenty of bars all around the city that you can visit. There are plenty of different cuisines available too. You certainly won’t struggle.

𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝
Whilst in the city, you can get around mostly on foot, but there are buses, trams and taxis available. The Uber app works here, connecting you with a local company.

From the airport, there is the Dublin Express bus service that runs to the city roughly every 20 mins, this takes about 30 mins, and a taxi can cost around €30-35.

𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝
England fans are housed in the north end of the stadium, and England fans should be accessing the stadium via Bath Avenue (see the map below). You can walk to the stadium from the Temple Bar area in around 45 mins. Getting here by train isn’t ideal, but if you do find yourself on the dart train, you should use Grand Canal Dock station, not Lansdowne Road.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦
The stadium will open 90 minutes prior to kick-off. There will be an initial ticket check followed by the usual body search. There are eight turnstiles available for England fans, however these are all located together, so expect some queuing.

The concourse is quite long, albeit slightly narrow. We expect alcohol to be served however this could change. Power banks are allowed, no bigger than your phone.

You may notice upon entry to the seating area that the seating numbers are a little confusing, for example seat 26 is next to seat 3. If you use the access on your ticket, turn left when you enter the seating area for your block.

It is yet to be determined if there will be a hold back, but if there is one it could be up to 45 mins. Toilets and concessions should still be available for use.

There will be a small area designated for fans wishing to sit down for this game in the corner, so please don’t disrupt this.

𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞
If able, you can walk back to the city centre. Trains are likely to be busy from the stadium and none go near the Temple Bar area.

For fans heading straight to the airport, it’s around 30 minutes in a taxi and getting one near the stadium may be difficult, so plan in advance.

𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬
Flags are allowed, although space is somewhat limited. Any flags above 2x1.5m will be checked on entry and must have a fire label, as per the EURO 2024 set up. Bags no bigger than A4 are permitted and there is no bag storage at the ground.

𝐓𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬
England fans will have the option to collect your ticket from the Hilton Garden Inn Dublin City Centre on Thursday 5th (16:00-19:30) and Friday 6th September (10:00-20:00), and at the Grand Canal hotel near the stadium on Matchday (08:30-16:00).

This was the same process and same hotels as back in 2015.

𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐬’ 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐲
The Fans’ Embassy will be up and running on Friday 6th September and on matchday, Saturday 7th September.

We will be located near Temple Bar next to the O’Connell Bridge, on the corner of Westmoreland Street and Aston Quay and Fitzgerald’s Bar.

If you have any questions in advance, contact us on here, Facebook or WhatsApp on the number below.

The kick-off time for Ireland away will remain as previously advertised at 5pm.

There had been some discussions about an earlier kick-off, which when the game is less than one month away, is disappointing. We knew the date months ago and fans will have booked travel based around the previously advertised time.

Announcements of concrete kick-off times should be made much earlier and we have made this point to UEFA (via Football Supporters Europe).

Fans need and deserve the opportunity to plan trips abroad with as much notice as possible.

We have equally raised concerns about the price of the tickets. £57 (€65) in our view is far too high, and takes advantage of England’s fantastic support who will once again be travelling in our thousands.

We just wanted to wish everyone a safe journey home from Germany.

It has been some trip. Whether you’ve been to one game, a few or even them all, it has been a pleasure from our side to see, speak to and help so many fans from our fantastic support.

We’ll be taking a batch of Free Lions from each game home with us for our subscribers, if we have some left over we’ll let you know how to get them.

In the meantime, we’re still here if you need us in the coming days.

We go again. See you in Dublin. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Fans travelling back from Berlin airport are advised to get there at least 2.5 hours before your flight. It’s possible queues at security could be long.

The Fans’ Embassy is up and running at Breitscheidplatz, near the Zoologischer Garten station.

This area has been designated for England fans to gather in if you so wish.

The first major final outside of England. We’re going to Berlin.

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤
We don’t want to hold your hand here, it’s Berlin. It’s massive, you’ll easily find a bar or restaurant to suit your needs.

On matchday, England fans have the use of 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐭𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐝𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐳, where the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church is, next to the Zoologischer Garten.

It is a brilliant area in the centre of Berlin with plenty areas for eating and drinking, both inside and on the streets. It’s a great location for England fans looking to gather in large numbers.

Alternatively, places such as Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstrasse, or you can use the fan zones at Brandenburg Gate or the Reichstag.

𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧
Fans with match tickets can take advantage of €29.90 tickets for ICE trains via this link. https://int.bahn.de/en/offers/special-offers/fan-ticket-football Book no later than one day in advance

𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝
There are multiple options available, and it’s worth making a note of what entrance you need to use and plan your route. Travel is free from 6am on matchday until 6pm Monday on the VVB regional services.

𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙞𝙩𝙨𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙙𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙯
From the England Fan Meeting Point, you can get the S-Bahn S3, S5, S9 to the Olympiastadion from Zoologischer Garten Bahnhof.

𝙁𝒓𝙤𝒎 𝒕𝙝𝒆 𝒄𝙞𝒕𝙮 𝙘𝒆𝙣𝒕𝙧𝒆
You can get to Entrance A from Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz or Zoologischer Garten on Subway line U2 towards Ruhleben, exiting at the Olympia-Stadion station. For Entrance B, from Berlin Hauptbahnhof, Friedrichstraße, Alexanderplatz or Zoologischer Garten you can use S-Bahn lines S3 and S9 towards Spandau/Olympiastadion, or take the S5 special train to Olympiastadion.

𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙍𝙚𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙜 𝙁𝙖𝙣 𝙕𝙤𝙣𝙚
You can take the S-Bahn line S3 or S9, or the S5 special train from Berlin Hauptbahnhof to the Olympiastadion.

𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘽𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙜 𝙂𝙖𝙩𝙚
Leave the Brandenburg Gate Fan Zone to the south and take the subway from Potsdamer Platz, line U2 towards the Olympia-Stadion for Entrance A. For Entrance B, leave the fan zone to the north and head to Berlin Hauptbahnhof, taking the S-Bahn S3, S9 or the special service S5 to Olympiastadion.

𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜
There is no public parking at the stadium. Fans should make use of parking in the city centre or use the park+ride facilities on the outskirts of the city and travel in, following the instructions above to get to the stadium.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦
Official England fans are on the west side of the ground, the same side as the Olympic torch.

The stadium will open at 18:00 and will remain open for some time after, obviously…

𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞
Fans can follow the above in reverse. We expect services to be busy, naturally, but Berlin is well versed in dealing with major sporting events.

𝐁𝐚𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞
There are a few options for bag storage, including at Berlin Hauptbahnhof. A quick google search will show plenty of options that you can use in the city that would suit your needs.

𝐓𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬
Apologies if we don’t reply to messages regarding any available tickets. Our only advice is to look on the UEFA website, and be very wary of people offering tickets on social media.

Anyone with ticketing issues can visit the ticket resolution centres at the stadium which will open seven hours before KO.

𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐬’ 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐲
The Fans’ Embassy will be open on Saturday 13th July from 12-5 at Breitscheidplatz, and again from 10:00-17:00 on Sunday, the day of the final.

Our special edition of the Free Lions 191 will be available to collect, along with editions of some previous games.

𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐃𝐀𝐘!!

EURO 2024 Semi-Final!

Here’s a few things to keep in mind for today.

𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐝
Match ticket holders can get free travel which started at 6am this morning until 6pm tomorrow evening. You can only get this on regional services within the VRR and VRS regions. You cannot use IC/ICE/EC trains.

Services are likely to be busy today so don’t leave it late to arrive.

𝐈𝐧 𝐃𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐝
It’s estimated the Dutch will bring 80,000 supporters to the city, so expect most areas to be extremely busy.

Netherlands have a meeting point not far from the Alter Markt and will be walking to the ground en masse at around 4:30pm.

There are some bars and restaurants along the ‘Green Carpet’ walk to the stadium, which is a 3km long carpet starting at the central station to the ground. More recommendations are in our Free Lions: https://thefsa.org.uk/news/free-lions-190-england-vs-netherlands-guide-to-dortmund/

𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝
If the weather is ok, we’d recommend just walking to the stadium. It can take approximately 30-45 mins from the city centre along the ‘Green Carpet’.

Alternatively, use tram line U45 towards Stadion or Westfalenhallen from the main station. Or from Reinoldikirche in the city centre, use line U42 towards Theodor-Fliedner-Heim.

England fans are encouraged to use entrances A, D and E in the north, and make your way to your seat from there.

Parking is sold out at the stadium. The city and surrounding areas are likely to be so busy with Dutch fans able to arrive easily by car.

𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞
You can use the same options above in reverse, but services are likely to be busy, so would recommend walking if you can.

Trains to surrounding towns and cities will run into the early hours.

𝐓𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠
Any fans with tickets who have issues can visit the ticket resolution centres at the stadium.

𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐬’ 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐲
The Fans’ Embassy will be open from 10:30am outside the Football Museum, opposite the main station. Volunteers will be on hand with Issue 190 of the Free Lions

We’ll be joined by a staff member from the ESTC at 11-12:30, there will also be a mini-football tournament, 3-a-side, at the football museum.

Our third semi-final in four tournaments! Here is some info ahead of Wednesday.

𝐄𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠
We are expecting to be outnumbered by the Dutch, who don’t have to travel far to get here.

English fans normally head to the Alter Markt towards bars like Wenkers, and this is an option, but expect it to be extremely busy.

There are a few options if you follow the Green Carpet to the stadium, towards bars like the Londoner.

There are some other recommendations in our Free Lions which you can download here: https://thefsa.org.uk/news/free-lions-190-england-vs-netherlands-guide-to-dortmund/

𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝
The official England section is towards the north of the stadium.

We would advise walking along the ‘Green Carpet’ to the stadium (weather permitting), which starts and can be found at the main station, this will take around 30-40 mins. If you want to take public transport, you can do so from Dortmund Hauptbahnhof towards Westfalenhallen or the Stadion on line U45.

From the city centre at Reinoldikirche, you can use lines U46 to Westfalenhallen or U42 to Theodor-Fliedner-Heim. Both are around a five-minute walk to the stadium.

Holland fans will be walking to the stadium en masse from the city centre at Kampstrasse. They won’t be walking along the ‘Green Carpet’ route, but will be entering the stadium at the south entrances. England fans should try and use the ones in the north.

Keep an eye on our channels on the day for any updates.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦
The ground will open at 18:00.

Since there is a chance we will be outnumbered and facing the ‘Oranje Wall’, we’ll certainly need our voices to get behind the boys throughout.

The stadium will remain open for some time afterwards if you wanted some food or a drink.

𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞
Fans can use all of the above but in reverse, but would advise if you can just to walk back to the city centre, public transport is expected to be busy.

Onward travel to surrounding towns and cities will be running into the early hours of Thursday morning.

𝐁𝐚𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞
There is currently no free bag storage in Dortmund. There are lockers at the station and some small storage areas at the stadium, but the latter isn’t advised.

𝐓𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠
There are ticket resolution centres at the stadium should you need assistance with your ticket or ticketing app.

𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬
Fans without tickets can use the Friedensplatz fan zone, or the Westfalenpark public viewing area to watch the game. Do not travel to the stadium.

𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐬’ 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐲
The Fans’ Embassy will be open from midday until 17:00 on Tuesday, and from 10:30-17:30 on matchday. Issue 190 of the Free Lions will be available to collect.

We will be based outside the main station at the Football Museum.

🚆𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥
Match ticket holders are entitled to free regional travel from 6am today until 6pm tomorrow. This can be used in the VRR and VRS regions only.

🚇🚶𝐆𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝
Fans can use tram U78 to Sportpark Nord/Europaplatz from Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof or Heinrich-Heine-Allee.

Whilst trams are expected to run every
3-5 minutes, it is possible that some trams will arrive at Heinrich-Heine-Allee already busy/full from the main station. So please allow enough time.

There is a shuttle bus from Heinrich-Heine-Allee, however this will drop you at the south side of the stadium, so you could face a long walk to the north side of the stadium, where the official England section is.

Weather dependent, you could walk or take an e-scooter along the river (it is illegal to ride the scooters under the influence of alcohol). Walking will take around 75 mins.

Switzerland fans are based in the south of the stadium and have a fan meeting point along the river. They plan to walk to the stadium around 2:30pm in their thousands.

There are also some shuttles to the stadium from the airport and the airport station.

Once again, leave enough time to get to the stadium and have some patience.

🏟️𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐮𝐦
The stadium will open at 15:00 and there are no alcohol restrictions. It has been reported that fans in the upper tier have faced some long queues at the concession stands.

If drinking in the stands, remember you pay a €3 deposit for the cups, please do not chuck them! It doesn’t do us any favours, and only impacts the people they land on. Unfortunately this has caused some injuries. Return them to the kiosks after the game to get your money back.

The stadium will remain open for a while if you wanted to stay and have a drink. The 9pm game will not be shown.

🚃𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞
Fans can use tram U78 back to the city centre from the Merkur-Spiel-Arena/Messe Nord station, which is located at the south of the stadium. This is not the same station as the one you will be dropped off at.

There are no shuttle buses back to the city centre, so you could walk, or use shuttle buses to the airport and take a short train back to the city from there.

Anyone that takes U78 from the stadium can expect it to take around an hour to clear.

📱🎟️𝐓𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬
Any fans with ticketing issues can visit the ticket resolution centres at the stadium, they open seven hours before KO. There are three centres in total at the stadium.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐬
Remember that flags bigger than 2x1.5m should have a fire label/fire certificate.

🎒𝐁𝐚𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞
There is free bag storage in the city at Grabbeplatz. This will open at midday until 1am.

📺𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐬
If you have been unable to obtain a ticket, you can watch the game at the multiple bars around the city, as well as at fan zones Burgplatz, Schauspielhaus, and the public viewing area on the river front.

As the tournament goes on, demand for tickets gets even higher. With that comes an increase in touts and scammers.

Apologies if we don’t respond to questions about available tickets. We would only encourage legitimate means through the FA or UEFA.

Ahead of the Euros, we are unfortunately seeing fans falling foul of ticket touts and scams, with supporters losing hundreds of pounds after purchasing “tickets” from unofficial channels which, ultimately, didn’t exist. Most games at the tournament have been sold out for months, with limited t
