The Mic Magazine is the University of Nottingham’s Official Music Magazine – created by students, for students. We've made some big changes behind the scenes at The Mic this year, and we've reflected that in some big changes on the outside with a re-brand facelift and a shiny new website. We offer budding writers, journalists, photographers, designers, event organisers, editors, marketers and sale
speople the chance to indulge in and share their love of music culture, whilst gaining valuable experience for their future careers. Our priorities are quality journalism, competitive advertising, and building our reputation as one of the UK’s best student music magazines. So get in touch for opportunities in:

Are you interested in learning how to use Adobe InDesign for magazine design?
The Mic will host a short tutorial session in D10 Monica Partridge for designers to learn the basics of the software. You will learn about the next issue of The Mic & claim artists to design.
Straight afterwards will be our AGM - please stay to voice your thoughts and vote on changes to the society and committee for 2024/25.

Completing our committee for this year, becomes our newest Managing Director.
Ali will be overseeing all aspects of the magazine, attempting to make it as good a year for The Mic as possible
After a fantastic year as Features Editor, becomes Editor-In-Chief for the upcoming year.
Roxy will be overseeing everything put out on the Mic in the upcoming year, including both online and printed work

Moving into a new role for 23/24, .hannant becomes the new Features Editor!
Liv will be responsible for creating, distributing, and editing the exciting features we have coming up in the next year.
Keeping you in the loop about all the new music over the next year, becomes our brand new Releases Editor!
Nat will be managing, curating, and editing all of the coverage of new albums and EPs at The Mic!
is our new Live Editor for the upcoming year!
She will be responsible for putting together all of our coverage of the amazing and dynamic world of live music in Nottingham and beyond!
Moving onto the editors today, starting with our new Assistant Editor .
Alice will be supporting our specialist editors, making sure that all of our writing comes out quickly and high quality.
will be taking the reins as Artistic Director for this year.
Across The Mic, on the website as well as in the printed editions, Ria will be spearheading the aesthetics of the magazine!
