Ken Allardyce is widely known as an outstanding engineer, mixer and producer.
His career started as a musician playing in bands in London including a stint with Chris de Burgh. He came to the States working for prog rockers Supertramp, and through his association with them found his way into the recording studio. He earned his solid sound background as a staff engineer first at Schnee Studio and then at Ocean Way in Los Angeles where he worked a alongside many legends of the recording world such as Glyn Johns, Al Schmitt, Arif Mardin, Nile Rodgers, Jim Steinman, Lenny Waronker, Pat Leonard, Richard Perry and Marcus Miller.
Ken has numerous chart-topping popular recordings to his credit including: Green Day’s “Nimrod,” and “Warning” cd’s for Reprise, Weezer’s “Green Album” for Interscope with producer Ric Ocasek, and the Goo Goo Doll’s “Dizzy Up The Girl” and “Gutterflower” albums for Warner Bros. A long liaison with Mick Fleetwood and Lindsey Buckingham resulted in tracks for Fleetwood Mac’s “Say You Will” album, Stevie Nicks’ “Twisted” from the movie “Twister” as well as “Shakin’ the Cage” for The Zoo, Fleetwood’s offshoot band. Ken produced and mixed the legendary band, The Yardbirds “Birdland” cd featuring guitarists such as Jeff “Skunk” Baxter, Jeff Beck and Brian May released on Favoured Nations.
Other notable recordings include Supertramp’s “It Was The Best of Times” recorded live at the Albert Hall in London, Rod Stewart’s”Faith of the Heart” with producer Guy Roche for the movie “Patch Adams”. Ken has recorded and mixed with French legend Eddie Mitchell on his latest albums (including a duet with Little Richard) and has recorded for Johnny Halliday.
He also produced and mixed the French punk rock band Les Wampas on their “Rock’n’Roll Pt 9” album. He recorded LA pop rockers Tsar’s debut album and “The Fourth World” by Kara’s Flowers (the first incarnation of Maroon 5), and lent a hand to his friend producer Eric Valentine on tracks for Good Charlotte.

Ken recently returned from Europe where he completed producing and mixing for powerhouse alternative rockers Madmoiselle K on Roy Music. He engineered and mixed legendary French chanteuse Sylvie Vartan’s latest album, “Nouvelle Vague” with producer Philippe Rault and engineered tracks on Avril Lavigne‘s “The Best Damn Thing”.
Ken has been collaborating with producer and extraordinary musician , Freddy Koella (Bob Dylan, Doctor John, W***y Deville) at Le Garage Studio in LA working with singer songwriter Lila Nelson and the well accomplished Kenny Edwards. “Working with Freddy is a lot of fun.We are from quite different schools, but both enjoy a laid back approach to record making while striving for the highest standards,” says Allardyce who also works out of his studio in the Highlands, Scotland,

History:
Alan Greer has been in the music industry for over 30 years. Alan first started off playing in bands at the age of 17 such as “55 Days Down A Well” and “A Touch Of Klass” before embarking on a solo career at the age off 25 with a self produced album “Burn The Human Race” from which he released 2 singles “Who Has To Pay” and “My Life”. He later formed the Inverness/Nairn based band “Spotty Dogg” where he recorded/produced & co wrote 2 albums ” Unleashed” and “Push To Perfection ( Can hear the tracks here) before departing to run his own electronic repair business and rebuild/expand his recording studio.
Alan founded The SUBlist (The Scottish Unsigned Bands List) in 2018 as a platform for musicians to have their music heard as well as a network for the music industry.
Alan has been involved and many music projects the latest being “The Stardust Project” raising thousands of pounds through the release of a single “Sing Loud For Cancer”and the live Stardust concert.
Alan then took on the role as manager for the Thurso band “Forgetting the Future” in Feb 2019 shooting and directing their video “Bluetooth” released 25th October 2019, with their debut album scheduled release February 2020 followed by a UK tour.
