Root Down radio has been built from the ground up, from the service itself, built out of free open source software, to the brand & promotion side using social & crowdsourcing channels. We play and promote high quality music across multiple genres, inspired by the DIY ethic of the reggae & hip hop pioneers. We provide a free independent music channel for DJs & artists to reach a bigger audience and

promote good music in all our lives. We are committed to making sure artists are paid their due publishing for the music play. We therefore pay our PRS & PPL licensing subscriptions, and ask for a small yearly contribution from DJ’s & radio show hosts towards these costs.
