We formed The London Funeral Singers together in 2015. We met while performing in a show together in north London and became friends, then colleagues. We sang at every funeral ourselves until we could expand our network of singers to make sure we'd always have the perfect voices for each different service. Now we still take care of every funeral personally, and have created a book of over 100 incredibly talented professional singers and musicians to draw from.

We wrote this arrangement of the Kinks' 'Days' especially for a service in Essex last week. You can hear our singers here rehearsing before the service.
The lyrics are just perfect for a funeral - so much so that Ray Davies, the Kinks' lead singer who wrote the song, said that he'd like it played at his own funeral.
He wrote it for his sister Rosy, who was emigrating to Australia. He said, "It's a goodbye song, but it’s also an inspirational song ... I wanted to write a sad song with an optimistic praise to it."
