Cheltenham Road East Southbound is partially blocked due to an accident near the Esso Station. Delays reported in the area.

*0735 Travel Update* M5 Southbound closed, queueing traffic due to flooding from J11 A40 (Gloucester / Golden Valley Bypass) to J12 A430 (Quedgeley / Hardwicke). The M50 in Gloucestershire/Worcestershire is closed eastbound between 4 Ross-on-Wye and J3 Gorsley Common due to flooding. A40 Westbound closed due to flooding from B4063 (Arle Court Roundabout, Cheltenham) to A417 (Elmbridge Court Roundabout, Gloucester). A435 in both directions partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident between A46 (Teddington Hands roundabout) and B4079.

The A40 is closed westbound between the M5 J11 and the A417 near Gloucester due to flooding following heavy rainfall.

The carriageway has now re-opened. M5 Southbound closed, long delays due to police incident from J11A A417 (Gloucester / Cirencester) to J12 A430 (Quedgeley / Hardwicke). Congestion to J11 (Gloucester / Golden Valley Bypass). Trapped traffic is being released southbound now as the road has closed, traffic was held in both directions around 16:45.

Hollie Gazzard has been remembered during today's Prime Minister's Questions. Sir Keir Starmer paid tribute to Holly and commended the work of the Hollie Gazzard Trust. The trust was created following the murder of the 20-year-old hairdresser from Gloucester in 2014 by an ex-partner. Hollie had suffered domestic abuse and stalking prior to being fatally stabbed at her place of work on Southgate Street.

A woman who took a disabled man's mobility scooter and left him abandoned in the street in sub-zero temperatures has been jailed. Kimberley Ann Hawkins, 41, had previously admitted the manslaughter of 63-year-old Neil Shadwick on 22 January last year. Body-worn video footage released by police shows the moment Hawkins realised her actions had resulted in Mr Shadwick's death. Gloucester Festival of Archaeology is running until 27 July. The festival encourages visitors and residents to explore the city and learn more about what is under its streets. A series of talks exploring Gloucester's history, from the discovery of Eastgate Chamber, to the role of the city in the Saxon times, will also form part of the event.
