Tangerinecat Many Kettles
This is a beautiful and brutal album, emotionally reminiscent of Idles recently released Joy as an Act of Resistance. At times it’s almost too painful to listen to but a la the bands live performance, it is hypnotic and lures you in.
Its tales of monstrous acts of cruelty and abuse, of physical and mental anguish and of bigotry, oppression and short-sightedness could drive some away, if you are one of the ones it drives away, you are losing yourself, come back, listen and learn, be a person.
Musically, it’s a wonder, the duo share the electro beats, Paul gives us pipes and spoken word while Eugene provides Hurdy Gurdy lyrics and vocals … it’s a toxic combination, it works and with some style.
I wanted to keep this short because frankly my writing cannot match what I have seen written about the Band and their music.
I love this album and was hypnotised by their live work, if you ever want to meander somewhere left field then start here, the journey is fulfilling and worth your precious time.
