That's me wondering where my house went. I'm sure it was here when I left 40 years ago. Check out the podcast for other stuff Roy, Dave and I try to remember.

This is the first episode of a new podcast--three old friends sitting around talking about, reminiscing about and probably stretching the truth about their youth in Bardstown, Kentucky. They've moved on from there and each live away from where they grew up. Roy lives in Maine, David in Indiana and R...

We have little men, meat and potato men, rambling men, black eyed men, burning men, branded men and, of course, simple men.

It's Cardigan Country on Cardigan Internet Radio and the theme is men. Russ (a man) will be your guide through all things manly in country music, take you further into the story of Max who has now, possibly, found romance, and play you some great tunes as the cherry on top of a gorgeous sunny weekend here in Cardigan Town.

Listen this evening at 7pm or on catch up any time after.

Cardigan Country is brought to you this evening by the chaos theory, sometimes called the butterfly effect, which deals with “complex systems whose behaviour are highly sensitive to slight changes in conditions, so that small alterations can give rise to strikingly great consequences” so when a butterfly flaps its wings in China a pipe backs up in a house in Cardigan.

Russ was side tracked from working on the show today by a backed up soil pipe. Russ has no sense of smell and so was able to tackle the grim job with something verging on enthusiasm.

So the change in a sewer pipe action led to back up which led to a poo surge which led to Russ not coming up with a theme for tonight’s show. It could be argued that that is not a strikingly great consequence but that’s there we are.

It is also Mother’s Day and mama, who of course deals with poo on a daily basis with diapers a-go-go, plays a big part in all country music, along with beer and trucks so with any luck we will get some mama songs, stories of others dirty jobs and the next chapter in the life of Max, the hapless reporter who keeps finding body parts in strange places.

We are on a diversion this evening in Cardigan Country - the yellow brick road is closed and the way to the wardrobe is obscured by big yellow warning signs.

How ever will Russ get to bring you his country tunes, his stories and listener’s meandering recollections of times off the beaten track? Well, he will find a way because he’s a resourceful kind of guy, but there may be some musical diversions along the way too so stand by your lap top radiograms at 7pm and tune in to Cardigan Internet Radio and let Russ take you on a magical mystery tour.

Here in Cardigan Country we are free, free to do whatever we want, play whatever we want, even if it’s Beethoven and not W***y Nelson. We won’t, but the point is we could.

One person’s freedom of choice may be another’s nemesis, just look at what’s happening in Kentucky where drag queens are being banned from reading stories to children but it’s ok to take a gun to a school picnic.

Here we see it as the gift of being able to be just exactly how you want to be, just so long as you don’t harm anyone else in the process.

Kris Kristofferson sang that “freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose” in his song Me and B***y McGee - I’m not sure he’s absolutely right but let’s go with it anyway.

Ride in to Cardigan Country with your host Russ this evening at 7pm and enjoy the freedom to listen some great country music, find out how Max is doing and here news on a new, upcoming show on this great internet radio station…

This evening’s Cardigan Country is coming to you in relaxed style.

Following a weekend here of glorious sunshine, fresh breezes and a glimpse of spring to come we will take you on an Americana amble as Sunday winds down, no theme, just good music, bit of chat and of course the next chapter in the story of Max and the severed hand, foot, scalp etc…

So get that fire going, line up your rocking chairs and get ready to spend the evening with Russ, 7-9pm.

Listen carefully, you may get mention!
(and don't forget if you can't listen live you can always get it on catch up)

Greetings Cardigan Country followers, this is the SUPREME BEING here. I will be taking over Cardigan Internet Radio tonight between 7 and 9pm, sitting in Russ’s chair and in Russ’s body and playing a melange of country, rock, pop, folk and what ever the heck I want because I am the SB and that’s just how it is folks.

I have been hearing your prayers, your wishes and desires and will do my best to grant all the good ones. World peace, global warming and return to Europe seem to be beyond even my powers but I'll take a crack at anything else. So, for one night only, if I can get the tech to work for me (I am millions of years old after all so it’s a steep learning curve), tune in to hear me, the one and only, SUPREMO sending some excellent tunes your way.

We are going back in time tonight, not in a De Lorean car with Marty and Doc, but in our minds with music and stories from times past with Cardigan Country. We will listen to some proper ol’ timey’ music from the backwoods, and emerging artists of the 50s and 60s and even before.

Nashville was a just another southern town then, except that was home to the Grand Old Opry from 1925, a tiny acorn of the giant oak it has become. From barn dancing beginnings it became the centre for the greatest country music writers and artists that it is today.

Russ also has a treat lined up in the form of an interview with local author Gill Lewis about her new children's book Moon Flight.

“Can a timid rat ever become a hero? Tilbury is about to find out on the adventure of a lifetime, journeying across the sea to the realm of the dreaded White Death, to return a priceless diamond to its rightful owners. A marvellous adventure begins and a truly intrepid hero is born.”

The book launch is Moylegrove village Hall on Sunday 10th Feb at 6.30pm with some of your favourite sea shanty singers performing as the Ship Rats!

Details here - https://www.gilllewis.com/web/

So get comfy and tune your ear to the radiogram at 7pm this evening and get ready from some proper old school Cardigan Country on Cardigan Internet Radio.

Well, I woke up this morning baby, and I had me the blues
My cardigan is unravelling baby, I got the blues
Yes, I woke up this morning with the Cardigan blues…

You guessed it, tonight’s theme is the blues. Not strictly Country, but then maybe it is? It comes from the deep South that’s for sure, and certainly influenced many a country song writer. Russ will take you through the history and whats, whys and tunes, so make yourself comfortable and tune in to the radiogram at 7pm this evening, or any time after for catch up on Cardigan Internet Radio

https://cardiganinternetradio.wales/

And if you’re really lucky and the studio camera is working you will see Russ, sitting at the mixing desk, chatting away to you - give him a wave, send him a message on here, make him feel loved!

Tonight in Cardigan Country we are heading west, the mythical, always just out of reach place where everything will be better - the land will be fertile, the gold will line the streets, the women will be welcoming and the men up for a whisky, a beer and fisticuffs any time.

You just have to ride your horse along the trail, the cattle your only companions. You are a young cowboy who works in the saddle and sleeps in the canyons, waiting for summer and the pastures to change. As the moon rises, you’ll sit by by your fire thinking about women and glasses of beer. (forgive plagiarised James Taylor song)

David Crosby died this week. A resident of Laurel Canyon, California which is is about as far west as you can go, in the USA at least, a great song writer and hell raiser. In honour of him Russ and our weekend guests Liz & Paul raised a glass and sang the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young song the Find Cost of Freedom, about the American Civil War - here is a snippet with Socks the cat very unimpressed.

Tune into Cardigan Country on Cardigan Internet Radio this evening at 7pm or get it on catch up any time.

It’s Sunday evening and the dark is gathering. Maybe you’ve had a convivial lunch with friends, a walk on the beach or in the woods and now you’re heading home, looking for the light in the window to guide you in. Or maybe you’ve done some home improvements and can now sit and relax in the knowledge of a job well done, or bodged, there’s no judgement here, at least it’s done.

You take your seat by the roaring fire, radiator or hot water bottle, jostling for space on the sofa with the Sunday papers, books and knitting, your cat or the entire family as you get ready to switch on the radio, or in this case whatever you can get the internet on, and tune in to Cardigan Country on Cardigan Internet Radio at 7pm.

The theme this week is home. If you are lucky enough to have a roof over your head, warmth and comfort then you know what home is. Country music is full of stories of home, mostly with mama makin’ biscuits and daddy smokin’ on the porch swing while Billy-Jo gets up to no good in the barn, but let’s see what Russ has lined up for tonight, and what Max found when he went to church…

It’s another damp, cold evening here in Cardigan Country, but do we let it get us down? We do not, because tonights theme is Party Time! Do you party or go to a party? Is it a verb or a noun? Them’s the questions and the answer will depend on how Americanised you have become, but either way, it’s al about having fun, with a small dose of the cost of too much fun.

And where is Max up to? Is he partying or still flummoxed by the trail of body parts he keeps finding? Listen to find out in the latest of instalment of ‘Fosterville’.

Russ will of course be your fun-meister, starting at 7pm this evening as usual, whisking you through some fantastic party tunes to lift your spirits as we close the first week of 2023.

We hope you have all had a wonderful festive time and that Santa brought you what you really wanted and that the new year is shaping up even in its infancy of being one day old.
It's a dark and stormy new year's day's evening (is that a thing??)... Russ has headed to the studio, battling the elements to bring you more tunes to your earholes at 7pm.
Cardigan Country is going out this evening with a guest from far, far away (Brighton) so be ready for some chit chat, music and maybe to figuring out what on earth Max and the severed finger is all about (no promises on that one).
Tune in at 7pm or get it on catch up - Happy New Year Cardigan Country lovers!

This is one of our favourite and most irreverent Christmas songs and it will played the evening in Russell Walker 's Christmas Special over on Cardigan Internet Radio.

Listen from 7.30ish when he starts with some sea shanties with the Moylegrove Tabernacle Choir (it's not really but it's a good fun sea shanty singing village crew!), followed by some songs, readings and stories to brighten your Tuesday or whatever day you check in.

It’s a dark and wintery Sunday evening here in Wild West Wales, and Cardigan Country is getting ready to air at 7pm, local time.
What keeps you warm when the thermometer hits zero degrees and your socks are too thin, your nose too exposed? Why, love of course. Love warms your cockles even if you don’t know what your cockles are, love brightens your mornings and makes toasty your nights; its makes your feet feel light and your heart sing-a-ling.
Country music’s love stories traditionally have been about boy meets girl, girl meets meets boy (often adding in beer, trucks, whisky and divorce, sometimes all in one song) with not many nuances in between - but we can put our own spin on it and mix it up however it suits us, same sexes, all sexes, romantic, platonic, family… love is love - bring it on!

It’s Sunday evening and like Jack Kerouac and a thousand other hitchhiking kids who really should have known better we’re on the road with Cardigan Country. Songs about cars, trucks and maybe even tractors - all we know is it’s a long road through Cardigan Country and you never know where we’ll wind up.

Russ is your host from 7pm and doing battle with the England v Senegal match because that’s the kind of guy he is.

If you are torn between the footy and the wireless you can get Russ’s show on catch up so never fear, you’ll still get your country music fix.

Country Music Rebels, that's what's on my mind. Tonight's show from Caridgan Country is all about rebels - the people, the songs, the ideas. Plus of course Max gets in deeper in the search for the missing body parts in Fosterville.

Russ will be your host, tickling your eardrums with his (not awfully) country drawl.

Due to technical hitches the server is down at the station but it will rise again and you can get the show on catch up if you can't get it live.
