India’s battle with Covid-19, the UK’s complete reopening…
Episode 2 of WES Perspectives!
For our second episode of the interview series, we talked to Dr Ramanan Laxminarayan, economist and epidemiologist at Princeton University in the US. He is the Director of the Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics and Policy and has advised a range of governments in their Covid-19 responses. Amid India’s devastating second Covid wave, Laxminarayan launched OxygenForIndia, an initiative aiming to supply oxygen to those in critical medical situations.
Join us in this exclusive interview assessing the Indian government’s response, his own efforts and even his view on the UK’s complete reopening of the economy!
Women’s safety: The path ahead
Join us for our first episode of the WES Perspectives series.
As part of our commitment to foster dialogue on pressing issues of global importance, this live interview raises awareness on the tangible ways we as a society can uphold women’s safety.
Today we are joined by Soma Sara, who is an activist and founder of Everyone’s Invited – a space for young people to anonymously share their stories of sexual harassment and abuse. In this interview we discuss her efforts in ensuring continuous conversations regarding sexual assault and preventative measures, as well as the next steps we must take to ensure meaningful change is achieved. Soma Sara sheds light on the power of sharing experiences and being a catalyst for positive change in the future. Through this conversation we hope that you gain greater insight into the issues of sexual violence and peer-on-peer normalisation, and how together we can shape a society that treats everyone with respect and dignity.
