Can you ride from the UK to the very top of Europe and back in only three weeks?

Airline pilot Simon Williams set out to find out, swapping the skies for the dirt roads of the Trans Euro Trail on a mission to reach Nordkapp, the most northerly point in Europe accessible by road. Along the way, traversing through remote wilderness, he commandeered a barge to cross an icy river and battled a storm before finally reaching the end of the continent. Tired of scratches spoiling your pride and joy? While crash bars and bash plates take care of the big hits, it’s the little scuffs and stone chips that slowly take the shine off your bike. Whether it’s brushing past foliage on a green lane or catching flying stones from a mate’s rear wheel, those marks can add up and be costly to replace.

Thankfully, some wizards have come up with a solution: 3DCal. It’s a web-based program that allows you to design your own bike decals, which are then printed on high-quality protective material and shipped to you.

Then, apply them to your bike’s plastics, and they’ll be protected from scratches, drops, UV rays, flying rocks, and anything else that might damage the surface. Pretty nifty, right? If you’re already one of the most popular motorcycling stars on YouTube, what’s your next challenge? Well, if you’re Ryan Kluftinger (aka Ryan F9), you set your sights on becoming the fastest person to ride around the world.

And so the Canadian star did exactly that, conquering the feat in a remarkable 16 days and 23 hours. Here are just three things Ryan learned during the planning and attempt of his epic achievement.

1) You don’t always need a support vehicle. In the true spirit of adventure, Ryan and his co-rider decided that an elaborate support team and vehicles would only slow things down, so they took the lean and mean approach.“My friend Connor and I rode the entire circumnavigation ourselves and our filmmaker Edwin rode the entire thing as a pillion. There’s no other support vehicle. Our camera kit was built into a top box with some big batteries that charged off the bike and powered all the film gear so that we could rock up to a stop.”

2) Prepare your body, not just the bike. As any world traveller knows, fatigue can take its toll, so Ryan and his team stacked the odds in their favour in order to stay healthy and alert on the journey. “Connor was on top of the supplements. The dude was our little pharmacy because we went off everything in the months leading up to it. No caffeine, no nothing, just good food and water. We tried to get really healthy and really stable energy, just with our natural, biological selves.

3) Always plan your fuel stops. Finding the correct fuel for your bike can be difficult enough in foreign countries, but when petrol stations can be hundreds of miles apart. “The tricky thing came crossing the Nullarbor Plain in Australia, where gas stations would often be 300km (about 186 miles) apart. The problem is those gas stations close at 6pm and if the WiFi is down, they’ll just shut at any time because they can’t take payment.

Can you ride a full lap of Wales in a winter weekend and actually enjoy it? That’s the question James and Billy set out to answer as they took on a 48-hour lap of the country in the depths of winter, with heavy rain, flood warnings and short days stacked against them.

They set off on two BMW R 1300 GS adventure bikes, starting and finishing at Bigsweir Bridge over the River Wye, which marks the border between England and Wales. There was only one rule: once they entered Wales on their motorcycles, their route had to remain within the country.

So, did they make it back to Bigsweir Bridge within 48 hours? Watch the full video now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ae7x0FbbKss&t=1615s
