Sometimes I have to pinch myself that I live here. We’re absolutely spoilt with picturesque places, fantastic food and nature on our doorstep. 🌳🌼🦌
This is a great trending audio and template to use for your summer roundup. I was preparing some notes for a client on how to use this audio and template and I couldn’t resist making my own. If you’d like to use it too, follow these steps:
1. Open the reel in full screen and tap ‘template by…’ at the bottom
2. Tap ‘Use template’
3. Select ‘Add media’ and upload your own clips
4. Adjust the section of the clips you’re using if they’re longer by tapping on them and selecting ‘adjust section’ and dragging the clip left or right
5. Edit the overlaid text or drag to the bin and add your own (Remember to select the correct font and colour for your brand and reposition to fit with your clips)
6. Add your caption, hashtags, topics (although mine have currently disappeared!) and location (if relevant)
8. Add a reel cover by tapping ‘Edit cover’, dragging the bottom bar to a point in your reel or uploading an image from your camera roll (remember to tap ‘profile grid’ to check the grid view and drag to adjust the image if necessary)
If you’re not ready to create yours now you can save this reel and find it later in your saved folders and follow these steps.
Tag me in your reel. I’d love to see how you use this template.

📝 Have you spotted this new feature? Yes, another one!
Notes on posts and reels have arrived. They’re a fun way to highlight your opinions or recommendations on an event, product or service. They’re more visible than comments on posts which can easily be missed.
Points to note:
📝 They’re only shown to your followers who you follow back, or your close friends.
📝 They’re temporary and will disappear after 3 days.
📝 You can turn off notes on your posts and reels in your settings.
Give them a try and let me know what you think. Will you use them going forwards? (If you haven’t got this new feature on your account yet, don’t worry. As with all new features, frustratingly, they’re rolled out gradually to all accounts.
Hope you have a great weekend.

Today I attended a local networking event for Cotswold businesses and I found it interesting to see everyone immediately grabbing their phones and opening Instagram to follow each other after we’d each introduced ourselves. Once upon a time we’d have been searching for websites but social media is now the place to connect with businesses. This highlights how important it is to treat your Instagram account as your shop window. Show people who you are, what you do, where you’re based and how you can help them. This is your chance to shine! ✨ Here are my top tips to ensure you’re attracting followers and potential customers:1️⃣ If you’re the face of your business e.g. coaches, therapists, photographers, include your name in your bio or searchable name (beneath your profile pic) and use an image of you as your profile pic to help build a connection.2️⃣ Show the face(s) behind your business in your posts and stories. This applies to all small businesses. This also helps to build connection. 3️⃣ Include a link to your website in your bio (if you have one).4️⃣ Include your knowledge and expertise in your bio ensuring you include keywords.5️⃣ Create story highlights for testimonials, examples of your work and what services you offer giving visitors to your profile a quick summary of your business. 6️⃣ Include your location in your bio. You’ll be amazed the connections you’ll make purely by people realising you’re located close to them. 7️⃣ Keep your grid on-brand. Use Canva to create graphics with your brand colours and fonts. It makes a huge difference. 8️⃣ Post to your grid and stories regularly and to improve reach and signal to people that you’re still in business. These are just a handful of quick wins you can adopt to ensure your account is giving a good first impression and is attracting new followers and potential customers/clients. If you haven’t already done all of these I recommend giving them a try. If you’
2022 is coming to an end. It’s felt like the quickest year ever! It’s always good to look back and reflect on the year - celebrate the highlights and learn from the things that didn’t go so well.
This is the perfect audio for a 2022 highlight reel. Use this template to create your own and tag me in yours so I can see it.
I’m grateful for a busy year full of fun moments with friends and family, lots of travel and new experiences, working with lots of wonderful new clients and learning so much! I’m looking forward to 2023 and all it has to offer. It’s likely to bring lots of changes and challenges for me but once I’ve rested and recharged over Christmas I’ll be raring to go! ☺️
Thank you for all your support over the past 12 months. The likes, shares, comments, and to those of you I’ve worked with I’ve loved the experiences and being able to help you with your businesses.
9th November is Social Media Kindness Day. What will you do to spread kindness today? Here’s some ideas but you may have some of your own. There’s so many stories of social media having a negative influence on our lives, let’s turn that around and use social media for good. Spread positivity, kindness and love. ❤️ #SocialMediaKindnessDay #SocialMediaForGood #SocialMediaMarketingTips
I love helping people grow their business with social media marketing. I’ve come to love the training side of things. Meeting clients face to face and being able to answer their questions as we go is really uplifting and it’s even more satisfying seeing them put my tips into action and seeing success. When I receive testimonials like this it’s the cherry on the cake. Thank you Nicky (FitActive Personal Training). It was so lovely meeting you and a pleasure to work on your strategy with you. If you live in the North Cotswolds and are looking for a women’s personal trainer check out Nicky’s account. Nicky specialises in menopause fitness too and has a great wellness day coming up in September. #SocialMediaManagerUK #SocialMediaStrategy #ClientTestimonial #SocialMediaCoach
Noticing more suggested posts in your Instagram feed? Instagram are increasingly showing us content they think we’ll like to broaden the content in our feeds. It does mean you’re probably seeing less posts from your favourite accounts though unless you’ve added them to your favourites list. Watch my reel to see how to do this. If you’d like more tips from me make sure you add me to your favourites too.
Instagram is currently testing a full screen feed, the same as you may have seen on TikTok. You may have noticed the look of your feed has changed temporarily but as this is only in testing not all users will have seen this yet. But what does this mean for you? If this feature is rolled out to all users it could potentially mean you get more engagement on your posts. Whereas before, some posts, especially images or videos in landscape, took up a very small portion of a user’s screen, every post would be given a whole screen. This is your chance to really make an impact with your posts and try to capture the attention of more IG users. 👀 To make the most of this feature you will need to make sure all images and videos are sized at a 9:16 ratio or 1080 x 1920 pixels, the same as a story or reel. You can easily resize your posts with Canva Pro (I’d highly recommend using this if you don’t already). If you don’t resize your posts, there will be space above and below your post as you can see in this reel. 👇🏼 Let me know below if you’ve seen this feature on your account and what you think of it.
You are enough, you are beautiful, you are worthy. This International Women’s Day I’m encouraging you to take a look at yourself and appreciate what you are, how beautiful and incredible your body is, the amazing journey you have been on. Whether you have children or not, our bodies are fascinating for what they withstand over the years, the transformations they go through. We tend to beat ourselves up if we put on a few pounds, hide away if our hair is a mess or we have breakouts, agonise over a few wrinkles or grey hairs. None of this takes away from how beautiful you are. Beauty comes from within. There is more to you than your appearance and it’s time to recognise your worth and know that you are enough as you are. Let’s celebrate women today. The strong and courageous women who have gone before us, stand beside us and the next generations, who need us to show them how to love yourself, appreciate your body, reach for your goals and not let anyone or anything stand in your way. ❤️ *Another reel idea for here. Why not save the audio and personalise this for you. Tag me if you decide to use it. #IWD2022 #InternationalWomensDay
Struggling for content ideas? 🤔
“I don’t know what to post” is the comment I hear most from business owners. You can waste so much time procrastinating and getting into a panic when you know you need to post something but have no idea where to start. 🤯
I’m here to help you out with some content ideas to get your creative juices flowing! The answer to where to start is to think about what your audience want. How can you solve their problems and give them value?
Quality is always better than quantity! High quality content is much more likely to be engaged with by your audience and most importantly shared and saved. These forms of engagement are a great indication that your posts are on the money!
Take a look at the video to see my 5 high value content ideas. Have you tried any of these? Let me know which ones you fancy trying. ☺️

How do you know if your hashtag strategy is working? 🤔
Up until now I’ve only discussed how to find the right hashtags to use but when you’re using those hashtags, how do you know if they’re performing well for you? By now you should all know that the purpose of hashtags is to help you reach accounts that are your ideal client/customer, but aren’t yet following you. To check that your hashtags are doing just that you need to be checking your Instagram Insights regularly. Swipe through the carousel above to find out what to look for and see the difference a good hashtag strategy can make.
Was this helpful to you? If so, you might want to consider saving it for later. Do you have friends who may find this useful too? Why not tag them below? If you want to make sure you don’t miss any of my posts make sure you turn on post notifications at the top right of this post. ✔️

When was the last time you re-introduced yourself to your followers? 🤔
As a small business owner it’s really important to show your face in order to connect with your audience, especially for solopreneurs - you are the face of your business after all! As we are all (hopefully) gaining new followers all the time we need to regularly reintroduce ourselves to keep newbies in the loop and make them feel welcome. Even long-standing followers need reintroductions as they may not see all of our posts. 🙋🏻♀️
We humans are naturally curious and nosey. We love to find out more about people, learn fun facts about them and see behind the scenes of someone else’s life and business. This is something stories are perfect for. Whereas on the grid most of us like to create polished and professional content, stories can be more authentic and casual.
This week I’m going to reintroduce myself and explain a bit about my journey to this point. Look out for my post and let me know if you’re going to join me and reintroduce yourself this week. 🙌🏼
Want to know how to get followers to engage with your stories? 🤔
Engagement stickers are a great way to encourage responses. Stories are designed to be informal, behind the scenes snapshots of your life and your business. Have some fun and allow your followers to get to know you and in turn you can learn about them.
Remember, story replies go straight to your DMs allowing you to have a private one-to-one conversation, an opportunity you don’t have with post comments. Make the most of this opportunity! 🙌🏼
I hope you found this week’s top tip helpful. Let me know if you have been using engagement stickers and having any success.
Has your engagement rate dropped recently? First of all, don’t panic! You’re definitely not alone. 🤗
There are a number of reasons why engagement has decreased lately; the great weather (up until last week), the easing of lockdown restrictions, the start of the European Championship and so on, all mean that people are spending more time outdoors socialising and unfortunately for us, less time on social media. 😩
So, what can you do? The answer is keep doing what you’re doing. Don’t give up and think that there’s no point posting if nobody is engaging with it. There will still be people reading your posts and if you keep posting, your loyal followers will return.
Also make sure you continue to be social on social - if people aren’t finding you then go and find them. Comment on your followers’ posts, search for posts in the explore pages of relevant hashtags and comment on those. These are great ways to draw your attention to yourself and encourage others to follow and engage with you.
As we all get used to the new norm and get over the initial excitement of our new-found freedom people will start to spend more time on social media again and engagement rates will increase. Hoorah! 🎉
Tell me, have you found engagement has decreased for you lately? What have you done about it?

How to block spam comments on Instagram
Another great Insta tip!
Following on from Wednesday’s pinning comments tutorial, watch the video to find out how you can block spam comments on your posts. 👇🏼
You may also choose to change the filters at the bottom of the menu to restrict offensive comments or specific words.
By opting to only allow comments from those you’re following and your followers, you’re likely to block most of the spam comments. However, if you’re still getting them they may be coming from followers. You can block individual followers if they’re being a nuisance.
If you have any questions comment below. Save or share this post to help others.
Are there any other tips you’d love to hear from me?

Instagram Top Tip
If you’ve watched my stories today you’ll know I had a day off with my children which wasn’t quite what I’d envisaged! 😂 So I decided I’d just give you a quick top tip this evening.
Note this is for Instagram only unfortunately but it’s a great little tip to help you highlight the best comments at the top of a post where they are most visible.
On the other hand, if you get any negative comments feel free to delete them if they aren’t helpful. If you get any automated bots commenting, you know the ones “DM me” etc then you can block them. I’ll save that for another top tip tutorial!
If there’s anything you’d like to know how to do just drop me a message. I’d be happy to help.
