Drawing the Mountains
Drawing the Mountains ⛰
Before all the snow leaves, here's a little snippet from one of our fantastic wintery Creatives workshops at Fort William Mountain Festival , run by Jack Spowart Illustration beneath the snowy shadow of Ben Nevis. These workshops were such a success - we can't wait for to come in the future.
Participants had the opportunity to sit in nature and draw in detail - art and medititation combined. We hope it inspires you to pack a sketchbook or writing pad this weekend on your adventures too. Have a good one!
An amazing timelapse of sunrise over the Cuillin on Skye taken by Adrian Trendall of All Things Cuillin. Shot from Bruach na Frithe, the peaks visible are the Bhasteir Tooth/Am Basteir, the bulk of Sgurr nan Gillean and the Munro top of Sgurr Fionn Choire.
All the motivation you need to keep getting up for sunrise! 💪
We’ve made a wee film!
Even as a publishing company, sometimes you need more than words. This short video aims to tell you more about us - who the press is, what we’re about and what we’re planning for the future - as well as evoke a sense of why we’re so inspired by adventure and creativity in Scotland.

Thanks for watching!
We are excited to launch Creatives, a vibrant, innovative and thought-provoking digital publication which promotes, reimagines and is inspired by the beauty of the Scottish landscape.
Through writing and visual art, it offers a platform for unpublished, emerging and established creators to connect with audiences all over the country, and provides a space for artists to collaborate, develop their crafts and motivate others to explore the natural world.
Published mountain writing does not always reflect the full range of communities that enjoy the outdoors. As such, we are not simply looking for traditional mountaineering feats of triumph, but rather, fresh concepts, unconventional experiences and journeys, new characters and mythologies.
Above all, your stories.

Hamish MacInnes: The Fox of Glencoe
The Fox of Glencoe, a compilation of memoirs by Hamish MacInnes, is due to arrive with us next week. The editor, Deziree Wilson, travelled to Glen Coe to meet some of those who knew him best. Watch this short video to discover a little more about Hamish, a small taste of what you'll read about in his book.
Many thanks to those in the video for sharing their memories of Hamish, and to Sir Chris Bonington and John Cleare for the additional images, which are taken from the book.
