FOLLOW UP TO WILDING…

We’ve just received the email below after we paid over the money to Kent Wildlife Trust, raised from the ‘Wilding’ screening. An equal amount was paid to the War Memorial Hall Appeal Fund.

As you will see, KWT will put the donation directly towards the Furnace Farm project so we’re keeping it all nice and local!

Can we take the opportunity to thank everyone who came to the film, supporting both organisations.

Over and above what we normally make for the hall, last year the cinema raised over £1,000 with charity screenings. Keep your eyes open… we might do it again!

Screening this Saturday in the War Memorial Hall Lamberhurst, multi-nominated and Oscar award-winning, THE HOLDOVERS.

A poignant tale of three very different and troubled individuals thrown together over the winter holidays in an elite New England academy, in the early 1970's.

Funny, tender and heartwarming, THE HOLDOVERS is sure to bring some cheer to cold post Christmas gloom!

🎉We've hurtled through Christmas and are now the other side in 2025! Lamberhurst Cinema wishes everyone a very Happy New Year!

🎬Coming up very soon on Saturday 11 January is THE HOLDOVERS, a heart warming tale of three troubled individuals who find themselves thrown together over the winter holidays in a New England elite academy in the early 1970s. The story is funny and poignant, whilst the film itself has very much a 1970's vibe in the way it has been shot.

Coming up on Saturday 23 November at the War Memorial Hall Lamberhurst.

ONE LIFE starring Anthony Hopkins, Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Flynn tells the remarkable story of Nicholas Winton and his humanitarian work in WWII, to save children from soon to be occupied Czechoslovakia.

Forgotten for decades, his story is reignited in the 1980s by the BBC's That's Life programme, where the impact of his work is realised across the generations.

Our regular programme of films resumes on 23rd November when we will be showing ONE LIFE, starring Anthony Hopkins, Johnny Flynn and Helena Bonham Carter.

ONE LIFE, follows retired Nicholas Winton (Anthony Hopkins) as he looks back on old documents from decades earlier, sparking memories of his efforts to rescue Jewish children from shortly to be occupied Czechoslovakia during WWII. We are transported back in time as we see a young Nicholas Winton, played by Johnny Flynn visiting Czechoslovakia and returning home to fulfil the legal requirements to bring 669 at risk children to Britain.

In 1988, his scrapbook, full of documents ends up in the hands of the BBC 'That's Life!' production team, and Nicholas Winton's remarkable story is subsequently brought to life and celebrated.

A true story, Winton went on to be knighted by the Queen in 2003 and in 2014 was awarded the highest honour of The Czech Republic.

A touching and extraordinary story, ONE LIFE is not to be missed.

A SPECIAL EVENT IN CONJUNCTION WITH KENT WILDLIFE TRUST

On Saturday 9th November, Lamberhurst Cinema will be screening WILDING followed by Q&As with Kent Wildlife Trust who have recently acquired Furnace Farm, on the outskirts of the village.

WILDING, a documentary tells the story of the Knepp Estate in West Sussex and how this was managed to increase biodiversity and the return of nature following years of intensive farming.

Proceeds from this special event will be shared equally between the War Memorial Hall fund and Kent Wildlife Trust.
