Spent last weekend at Tunes on the Sands at Blackpool Sands. I was djing but also took my camera to get some mingle shots and some of the headliners, Feeder and Razorlight. Good times rain or shine!

Some snaps from Saturday evening at for Sol Vibrations. Took the Fujifilm X-T1 with an old manual Canon FD 28mm manual lens and classic chrome film setting. A bit hit and miss with focus and trying to stay still when music was so good! Aiming to get a fast autofocus prime lens as soon as funds allow. Will make the low light shooting a bit easier to manage.

When a local production of an Agatha Christie play needed a way to promote A Murder is Announced at the Palace Theatre in Paignton, Devon, tasked with reproducing a broadsheet was the ideal way to go and the perfect way to print and deliver ‘the news’. Amazing quality and turnaround.

Some images of Dartmoor Classic day one with registration and event village at Newton Abbot Racecourse. Mid Devon CC’s flagship event and one of the best cycle sportive events in the UK that supports local charities and causes along with providing support to the clubs youth development program.

A selection of my images from Dartmouth Triathlon on Sunday. The cycling leg took in one of the most stunning roads in Devon along Slapton Sands. So lucky with the weather again and well done to everyone who took part.

A few pics from the weekend in Torquay. English Riviera Air Show was pretty good. I didn’t get quite as good a position for shots of the Red Arrows as last year but Sunday for the Typhoon was certainly better on a friends boat.

Hopes Nose and a tree I’ve previously shot in the day in a moody black and white style becomes my foreground subject for the Milky Way. Sky is a stack of 40 x 30 second tracked frames at iso800 f2.8. Foreground is 1 x 30 second at iso3200 (i think) blended in Adobe Photoshop.
Nice to be out under a clear sky on Friday and not be freezing cold!

Throwback Thursday to the days when I photographed and designed the brochures for one of my biggest clients back in the day. What started as a few adverts and a small 4 page mail order brochure for a local sports shop (Torre Sports) turned into one of the largest soccer mail order brands on the planet. Proud to have played a part in the first ten years of growth. and were spawned from this too. Will share some of that another time. What a journey, and they are still going strong!

Had a busy weekend that included ‘new to me’ camera day with the arrival of a X-T3 from on Saturday. Sunday I was shooting triathletes and swimmers at the Roadford Triathlon and Swims. A long day but thankfully the weather was lovely for this stunning location. My brief was mainly to cover the lake swims. Really enjoyed putting the new camera to use straight away!

Took my Fujifilm X-T1 and 16-135 lens out with me last Sunday totally forgetting that the fest at was on. Figured I may as well take a few images while enjoying a couple pints of Devon Rock. Good times!

My best M42 Orion Nebula so far. Around 40 mins tracked before the cloud rolled through.

Clear skies have been few and far between this winter. The recent cold spell in the UK has given some decent evenings so I’ve concentrated on trying to get at least an hour of data on Orion. The main aim to see if I could see Barnard’s Loop that arcs around the left side. For untracked and just using an unmodified Fujifilm X-T100 and 16-55mm at F4 I’m pretty happy. Over 700 5 second frames stacked in Siril and stretched in photoshop.

Dark and clear skies last night and an opportunity to get down to Ansteys Cove with my camera. Tried a few different lenses and compositions. Fairly happy with these but definitely need more time on Orion Nebula (M42).

Took my camera out last Thursday evening and managed to get some quite nice images. It was an evening of reflection and remembering my son on the fourth anniversary of his passing.
