Our Jack - The Choking "Game"

I miss this kid so much. Every day I wake up to another nightmare that doesn’t get easier.
I just want him to walk through the door…….it’s so hard 💔

On 2nd February 2015, thats when my nightmare began. I woke up to find my 14 year old son Jack Thomas Charlie Pickles had died due to a "game"!

This so called "game" is internationally known as The Choking Game, there are many different names, Passing Out, Fainting Game, The Blackout, Trip to Heaven, 5 Second High, The Choke, The Good Boys High.

This game is played mainly by boys aged 11 - 17, but statistics show the age range is from 9 upto 24, roughly 98% are boys 2% girls.

What is the aim of The Choking Game.....

It is not a sexual game, do not confuse this "Game" with any sexual reference, nearly all the children are found fully clothed with nothing sexual around them.

The aim is to disrupt or cut off the blood supply to the brain, in turn this gives a euphoric or tingling feeling, which only lasts a few seconds before the participant looses consciousness.

The loss of oxygen and blood supply isnt as save as they think it is, as each time they play this "Game" to get the rush is millions of brain cells dying, these cells do not regenerate.

The damage this rush can do to you is -

memory loss

Haemorrhage

stroke

seizers

loss of bodly functions

Permeant brain damage

cabbage state

coma

DEATH

The social media is teaching our kids how to play this game alone, with Belts, mobile phone wires, dog leads....the list goes on.

JACK did not want to die that day, he didnt take drugs or drink (as he knew the dangers they do to young people, as either myself or school had warned him, I didn't know anything about The Choking Game) but he wanted a natural high.

Jack had plans, Jack was going to London West End to do work experience, he was about to start dating a girl he really liked.

Another example A young girl was talking to her friend via Skype, she had to take the bins out, her mate said she'll have a quick "choke" and be back on line in 5, she never went on line again.

Marks around the neck, keeping there necks coverd or saying new marks on the neck are from sports games.

Locking the doors more

Spending more time alone

My aim is to go into schools around the UK to spreed the awareness to all the kids, whilst in an area i will also go into the doctors surgeries and give them information on what signs to look out for (listed below), I will see the police and tell them what to look out for when they walk into a seen like Jacks, and the corners offices.

When Jack passed away, it was the coroner who informed us that Jack had died from The Choking Game, as fortunately for us he had seen this before.

Meaning Jacks death went out as accidental death not su***de, unlike the many children who have, as there isnt enough awareness in this country. Our government won't acknowledge that this "Game" exists, hence why I'm setting up a charity.

I need a £5,000 deposit to set the charity up with, as well as a website for the children to go to for information and advice.

Beautiful Archie passes away at 12 years old.

Archie Battersbee passed away in hospital surrounded by his family after life-support treatment was withdrawn.

All because he played a so called “Game”!!!

I have done a lot of awareness about the dangers not only of The Choking “Game” but of the other silly crazies that are all over various websites. Unfortunately most of these websites take off the TV interviews / newspaper stories/ numerous radio stations I have been on. So the awareness of how damaging some of the videos various uploaders post is either harming the children/ disabling / or killing them as they see the uploaders doing these stupid “Games” and think their safe to copy.

JACK did not want to die that day, he didnt take drugs or drink (as he knew the dangers they do to young people, as either myself or school had warned him, I didnt know anything about The Choking Game) but he wanted a natural high.

Jack had plans, Jack was going to London West End to do work experance, he got his biggest wish of not been an only child, he got a brother and sister only 18 months before.

Another excample A young girl was talking to her friend via skype, she had to take the bins out, her mate said she'll have a quick "choke" and be back on line in 5, she never went on line again.

Another boy has played the chocking “Game”!!! He’s on life support.
Please read all about this so called “Game”, know what signs to look out for, teach the children around you of it’s dangers.
Imagine reading this and because you ignore it this happens to you, your family, friends.

I beg of you all to sign my petition. Please help me to stop our beautiful children seeing stupid crazes that can harm them or even worse KILL them. I lost my first true love, my first child and a huge piece of my heart.
Help me and another 12+ broken mums to honour our babies memories by not losing another child because of the internet 💙

Please please help me get the awareness out to the children that The Choking "Game" is dangerous.

There have been kids playing it in Wigan, at a family park whilst there were a lot of people around when a kid passed out and hurt himself. When a lady went to help she got a lot of abuse off the children as they didn't see they where doing anything wrong!!
Little do they know the children that participated have killed millions of brain cells that will never grow back. They are very likely to suffer from a seizure which could kill them.
I'm on air tomorrow on Rock FM and Key 103 tomorrow morning and Radio City tomorrow afternoon!
Please please tell everyone you know to listen in......together we might just safe a life.
