Making it appear as though you are at home, is a quick and easy way to prevent burglaries.

Some things you can do are:
💡 If you are out, use an automatic timer switch or smart lighting to turn on the lights when it gets dark, to make it look like someone is home.
🚨 Take time to check your alarm system, outdoor bulbs and security lighting works.
🏠 Ask a trusted neighbour, relative or friend to collect your post and open and close your home’s curtains whilst you’re away, to give the impression that someone is home.
📱 If you’re going away, don’t share details on social media until you return.

As bonfire night approaches, please be cautious 🔥🦔

Bonfires pose serious dangers to animals, including hedgehogs, who often seek shelter in piles of leaves and wood.

Here are some tips to protect hedgehogs this season:

🔥 Check before you burn: Always inspect your bonfire pile before lighting it. Give it a thorough check for any hidden hedgehogs.

🪵 Build the bonfire right: If you can, build your bonfire shortly before lighting it. This reduces the chance of animals taking up residence in it.

🦔 Create safe spaces: Consider leaving a small, undisturbed area in your garden for hedgehogs to thrive. This will give them a safe spot away from any danger.

👀 Stay vigilant: If you see any hedgehogs, keep your distance and allow them to roam freely.

By taking these simple precautions, we can keep our prickly pals safe.
