What a great concert by Northallerton Silver Band led by their brilliant MD Stuart Shields. It was very entertaining and a high standard of musicianship on display. The soloists were fabulous. Well done to all who took part.

I'm absolutely loving hearing my friend Charles conducting Thirsk RBL Band. It is nearly 40 years since he and I started the band and here we are watching it thrive and go from strength to strength, nurturing yet a whole new generation of young brass musicians.

Thank you to the organisers of Linton on Ouse and Newton on Ouse Remembrance services for inviting Alex and I to play the Last Post and Reveille. It was a great honour and we were both made to feel so welcome.

🎶 Upcoming concerts in December 🎶

There are still plenty of opportunities to hear the band in 2024.

Tuesday 10th Dec, 7pm: Carol service at Leyburn Auction Mart. Mince pies and mulled wine after the service.

Wednesday 11th Dec, 7pm: The Mayor’s Carol Concert at St Mary's Church, Richmond with the Secondary and Primary schools across Richmond.

Sunday 22nd Dec, 7pm: Nine Lessons and Carols at St. Matthew’s, Leyburn.

Monday 23rd Dec, 7.30pm: The Christmas Concert and Fireworks display at Tennants.

We’re also playing for the Christmas Light Switch on in Leyburn Market Place on Saturday November 30th, 4pm.

WOW WOW WOW!!!!

What an epic concert our night at the musicals / movies has been 🙂

Well done to all our soloists and members!! A huge well done and thank you to Stuart Shields our MD for leading us all 🙂

And a huge thank you to everyone who came and for your participation. Especially to the young lady who conducted the band at the end of 😛 sorry Stuart but the young lady may take over 😉

Hope to see everyone at future engagements 🙂

A big well done to Northallerton Silver Band for and excellent concert in the town's Golden Lion function room ladt night. A feast of tunes from the shows and cinema wowed and entertained an appreciative crowd including opportunities for audience participation on percussion instruments and singing along. A highlight for the band was when the encore was conducted by a young lady from the audience.
