We are super happy to announce that DJ Rends will be playing tunes at our October edition of Taunton Arts Market. 🎧🎉🎧

Rends is a Taunton based record collector and DJ with a penchant for vintage, funky music.

Whether he’s playing a set in a local boozer, at Taunton’s independent market or as part of a club night in Bristol, there is just one rule: the music‘s all on vinyl. Regardless of whether it’s Disco, Funk and Soul, Jazz, Latin and Afro Caribbean or 70s Rap, if it has a groove, it’s in the box and ready to go if the mood is right.

There will be stalls with vinyl, art, clothing and Caribbean food and a roster of fine, all vinyl DJs playing sweet and deep soul all day, with the tempo picking up later on for some real funky disco s**t. I should know, as I’ll be going back to back with my man and fellow boogie connoisseur .phillips__

To add to the fun, there will be another vinyl raffle running to raise funds for local good causes. It doesn’t get better. Oh wait… it does… It’s a free but pay what you can event; head over to Streets of Soul to reserve a ticket. Doors open at 2pm.

Was such an honour to play at ‘s first birthday bash the other night at , alongside some really great local DJs, producers and musicians. Wicked night and for me it was extra special being asked to play a Latin, Afro and World set, which started heavy on Bossa Nova and ended with Boogaloo.

Reuniting DJs Rendell & Son for Taunton’s Great Big Green Week event, happening in Goodlands Gardens on Saturday 10th of June. Come on down for music, munchies and to hear about the good work of local environment groups.

It’s all thanks to my man, Tim Walker aka who runs the rather good sustainable living and refillery shop on Station Road. If you are local to Taunton and, like me, keen to have less of an impact on the planet, you should definitely check it out as he sells some brilliant stuff. Plus he’s a throughly nice chap.
