Un/Common People: Folk Culture in Wessex
We’re excited to share a trailer of five incredible films that showcase the beauty and vibrant energy of local folk traditions. From the lively Morris Men to the magic of Summer Solstice at Stonehenge, these films capture the heart of our heritage and the connections we all share.

What a Night at Create Studios! ❤️
Last Friday was nothing short of magical! We were over the moon to welcome back David Yates—the incredible director behind Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts, and Tarzan—alongside his wonderful wife, Yvonne Walcott, to Create Studios.
They joined us to celebrate three amazing Swindon filmmakers: @LouisHickford, George Green, and Daniel Granville, who were the proud winners of the Short Film Fund, funded by David Yates and Create Studios.
David shared some fascinating stories about his journey in filmmaking, offered invaluable advice, and even treated us to one of his earlier short films—it was such a unique insight into his creative beginnings.
The night was a huge inspiration for all of us—it’s proof that you don’t need to be in a big city to make amazing things happen.
Talent, passion, and creativity can thrive everywhere, and Swindon is full of it (🪄🤝🏼)!
A big thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate this moment.

Create Studios wishes the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐲 a very happy 30th birthday! Since 2012, with the incredible support of the National Lottery, the BFI Film Audience Network’s 1,900 members have brought 124,273 film screenings to life across 1,065 communities, reaching 4.2 million visitors in the heart of neighborhoods across the UK. That’s a lot of game-changing films, in a lot of places, for a lot of people!
We’re happy to be part of the BFI 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐦 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤, allowing us to grow our Sofa Screenings series and bring inspiring films to communities right here in Swindon. It’s our joy to create spaces where stories can be shared, and people can connect.

Last week, we celebrated the successful completion of our 2-year Health Ambassadors project, commissioned by Swindon Borough Council Public Health Team.
The project led by the remarkable Ieva Delininkaityte , engaged three cohorts from Swindon, aiming to empower our client with the most effective strategies for communicating with young audiences on social media platforms. Ieva went above and beyond, developing a 50 hour workshop plan and three tailored social media campaigns in collaboration with each group. These initiatives not only helped our client reach their target audience but also equipped young people with valuable knowledge and skills in social media and content creation.
The culmination of this project was a joyous celebration, attended by participants, clients, and friends of Create Studios. It was a beautiful day, marking both the achievements of our participants and the positive impact of our collective efforts.
In recognition of their hard work and creativity, each participant received a Digital Badge and OCN London accreditation. We're especially proud to announce that Create Studios is now an approved OCN centre, a significant achievement made possible through the relentless effort and dedication of Ieva, Andy Freedman and OCN team.
Small steps lead to big changes, and this project is a shining example of that principle in action. We're proud of what we've accomplished and excited for what the future holds for Create Studios. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey. Here's to more milestones and collaborations ahead!
