I may have started this project back in May, but we are finally at the end! Here is a little sneak peek of the completed panelling.

I did this entire project by myself, from start to finish and I’m so pleased with the results.

There are a couple of things I need to do to complete it. The doors all need one coat of paint and I just need to pick up some new photo frames, and find a runner to compliment the colours.

We are slowly but surely getting there with all the renovation work. Next up is to complete the kitchen tiling.

I finished crocheting my Forget-Me-Not Pillow which matches perfectly with my blanket (an amazing find from work)

I’m still working out where I should style my new cushion, either in my office area, on my bed, or here on the sofa!

I have recently seen flower pillows trending in the shops but it’s so fun to have made my own!

PAINT SAMPLES 🖌️
So I decided to choose some Lick samples as I love how you can order online - no decisions in the shops. And they are peel and stick so am able to move them about and see how they look in different areas!
After having them up for a few days and asking all of you and friends and family we have chosen the bottom right! ✨ Pink 05 ✨

We are going to panel this room and paint the panelling, skirting and built in wardrobes in Pink 05 and I still need to find a white shade for the top of the walls!

It's currently painted in magnolia which just brings back vibes of when I rented so it needs to be gone 😂 Our bedroom is a really good size and it needs painting before the new carpets go in so I can't wait to get on with this project 🥰

I don't know what the previous owners did to the walls but they were so damaged and dented in high traffic areas.

l also got halfway sanding everything down by hand when my parents told me they actually had an electric sander (😭😂 which made the whole job 10 quicker but also 10x messier...

The day we got our keys we didn’t complete until 5pm. We packed up the car with boxes 📦 as much of our things that we could fit from where we were staying. Most of my belongings had been in a storage unit for the past few months with removal men organised to move all of my things a week later.

We managed to get the electricity working after many calls to the supplier, and made a run to the shops to stock up on cleaning supplies.

We set up the second bedroom into a sort of base with our airbed and belongings and had our first night sleep in our own home 🥹

We finally got our mortgage offer accepted which was a long time coming! The benefit to it taking so long did mean we were able to save more whilst waiting.

We managed to put our mortgage application in the day before all the interest rates soared so we were very lucky!

Next was to wait on solicitors and when we would get a date for exchange and completion!

I made an Instagram account months ago when we knew we were buying a house, to find decor inspiration, and to have somewhere to document our progress of renovating 🛠️ (after watching The Block i decided that was something I was completely capable of with no training 🤪)

We are Emily and Harry from Wiltshire/Oxfordshire and I’m excited to share our progress of making our house a lovely home 💕

I won a competition with @woodenblinds.co.uk and my samples arrived yesterday! The blinds are going to be going in my kitchen as we were going to have to buy custom blinds for that window anyway so it was a no brainer! I ordered some free samples to see which colour would work best in my kitchen. Which colour do you think I should go with? #perfectfitblinds #customblinds #shutterblinds #kitchenreno #homerenovation

I recently did a little upcycle of the under sink cabinet where it has been damaged from wet products being left on it. I bought some grey wood grain effect vinyl from Amazon and covered the top and now it looks much better! (I do need to give it a good scrub because it got splashed when the room was replastered, so that’s next on the list, along with scrubbing all the tiles too!) #upcycle #diy #bathroomrenovation #undersink #undersinkstorage

Progress has been made in the en-suite over the last couple of weekends 🛁 🫧 I took down the old blind - I’m on the lookout for a grey blind to replace it! 🫧 Painted all the walls and ceiling white (bye bye magnolia) 🫧 Removed the old carpet 🤢 🫧 Removed the (some rotten) Carpet grippers and all the staples, after this step I cleaned with some anti mould spray which delayed my process as I had to wait for it to dry! 🫧 Finally laid my new Lino! I absolutely love it and I’ve been waiting so long to replace this flooring. I’m so pleased I managed to do this all by myself. 🫧 Popped the cabinet back up on the wall ready to fill up with toiletries All that’s left to do now is: 🤍 Silicone the edges of the flooring 🤍 Repaint the skirting boards and door 🤍 Waterproof our under sink storage 🤍 Find a new blind 🤍 Potentially find some artwork? Not sure yet 🤔 The paint I used is @duluxuk bathroom range in Brilliant White and the Lino is Classic Victorian Tile by @remlandcarpets from our local Carpets4Less store @carpets4less_ #bathroomdecor #renovation #bathroomrevamp #ensuite #ensuitebathroom #linoflooring #painting

I went into the en-suite to film a little update now all the painting had been done when I noticed you could still see the two patches of dark grey I tested on the walls previously! A quick run to get the paint and brush and I’ve done a quick coat over the area again…hoping this time it will cover it up fully 🤞🏻 I’ve worked so hard on the painting I can’t let this little bit not get fixed. Tonight I’m going to be pulling up the carpet (FINALLY) and installing the Lino we purchased at the weekend. Watching this show is what started my desire to want to by a home we could renovate/decorate. My whole family watches this show, so far I'm the furthest behind and everyone has finished this series #theblockaustralia It’s basically a Australian renovation show where teams compete to renovate and style houses (million $ houses!!!) with the goal of selling their house at auction at the highest price.
