Scope Industries

An online multimedia production group. Scope Industries is a multimedia production company based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

To explain the origins of the company, we'll have to travel back in time a little bit. In 2011, while studying at his secondary school, Actor and Screenwriter Anthony Fulton set up and managed an extra-curricular school group where fellow pupils could attend and read through scripts that he himself had written, in the hopes of one day producing short films. At this time, the group was known as the

Scope Filming Society. In 2012, Fulton left his secondary school, progressing into further education at College in Edinburgh, taking the idea of Scope with him. His first of studying, within a Creative Media course, allowed him to explore basic technical skills required for filmmaking. As part of his course, students were to create their own short films for assessment, part of the task including that they also create a company name for themselves to use - it was here that Fulton decided on the name, Scope Industries. Since then, Fulton has taken time away from focusing on the development of Scope Industries in place of his studies in Acting and Performance but in 2018, while studying his final year at the University of Sunderland, Anthony Fulton returned to writing his own material - this time for another academic module wherein he tasked himself with producing a short film using only basic equipment and software freely available to aspiring filmmakers. His aim to prove that anyone could produce a film if they had the drive and determination to do so. As a result, Scope Industries' first official short film, Dead Romantic, was released in May 2018 and while certain aspects of the film are far from the quality of major blockbusters of today, his point was proven. Graduating from University and basing himself in Edinburgh, Fulton is now eager to continue working on the development and establishment of Scope Industries, hoping to branch into various forms of entertainment including Film, Television and Theatre.

When I first wrote the words "Aiming for the future. Making it today." when thinking up the motto for Scope Industries, the future I had envisioned was of a company that hired performers and artists of all shapes, sizes, colours, backgrounds, beliefs and abilities based on talent, passion and an unyielding sense of pride in the work they do and the things we can accomplish together.

The use of AI within the Film and TV Industry is growing increasingly concerning to me and we face a future where it seems actors and performers will not be necessary. That is not the future I believe in. People are the future. We are the future.

Right now, there are performers and writers and artists in America on strike because the companies and organisations they work for that make countless millions, sometimes even billions in profit for the movies they produce cannot reassure them that their own images, their own voices, their own personal identities will not be replicated and reused without consent or compensation. That fight, that problem, is not limited to Hollywood performers. That problem will soon be that of anyone who stands in front of a camera at any given time in their lives. Of anyone that posts anything online. That cannot happen.

As of this moment, Scope Industries stands in solidarity with SAG-AFTRA and vows that, in future, when it comes to the production of any and all media: AI is not allowed.

Scope Industries presents a remaster of its original 2018 production of 'Dead Romantic,' written and directed by Anthony J. Fulton.

The citizens of Riverhope live in fear as a new serial killer, The Riverhope Reaper, claims another victim. As mysterious 'Inquisitors' from the prestigious Imperial Inquiry race to catch the killer, witness the story of a group of young students in their search to find the true meaning of love. How do these stories intertwine, and what exactly are the purpose of these strange symbols found on each victim's body? Only time will tell.

In 2018, aspiring actor and screenwriter Anthony J. Fulton took on a challenge at University that would alter the course of his life forever: to prove that anyone and everyone could produce a film. Using only free-to-use computer software and the most basic film equipment, i.e., a smartphone, he confirmed that any story could be told with enough creative determination. The outcome: Dead Romantic.

Now five years later, Anthony J. Fulton is as determined as ever to retrace his steps and bring and make the production bigger, bolder and much better. And he needs your help to do it.
