Goldphone Recordings was conceived in early 2001 by Jon Aldersea, an award winning, broadcast multi media artist, creative director and musician from Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. He decided to go freelance and take over the complete running of his studio 'Silence', that was then based in the historic Courtyard of the Trentham Gardens Estate (It ran from 1993 - 2008). Already with a wealth of pro

fessional experience behind him in filming, editing, visualisation, music production and a successful storyboard and visual artist, he continued to work and build his portfolio of projects and clients, some of them he still works for to this day. This also included lecturing at various colleges and Universities, designing workshops, tutorials, and training in film and motion graphics. Over the years at his Trentham studio, he built up a full analogue and midi studio with recording facilities. Presently Jon has a new studio where he works on all his music and graphical output and projects including radio show construction and production. His list of clients includes Sony/BMG, RCA, BBC ‘TimeWatch’ Series (1 Episode) BBC Pebble Mill Radio Drama Dept. BBC Top Of The Pops (Video wall graphics 91), BBC Radio Stoke, BSkyB Sky Digital, Radio London International, Radio Caroline, Channel 5, Chrysalis Records, IE Management, Stoke City Community Trust, Network Records, Squirrel Records.Heritage Lottery Fund,Groundwork, HRC Ltd, Yesterday Once More Music Themed Holidays & Event Company, Derby University, Staffordshire University,

The origin of the name 'Goldphone Recordings' derives from the scene of Olivier Stone's film 'The Doors', an event that actually happened. Andy eager to meet Jim hands him a retro gold telephone as a present and with a classic 'Andy' comment says to him " Now Jim you can talk to God'. I had a couple of these retro telephones at the studio and decided to re-create a Warhol one by spraying it gold, and hence the goldphone in the studio that actually worked I named my business 'Goldphone Recordings'. The design lizards are a homage to Jim Morrison known as 'The Lizard King'. https://youtu.be/jyqXFXbDPcg
