On Saturday 22nd June, thousands of people will unite for nature in the centre of London for the largest ever gathering of nature lovers at the march.

Included in the group will be one of our youngest members - eight-year-old Seren, representing the next generation of wildlife conservationists, Seren has a love of hedgehogs and will be proudly marching to use her voice to stand up for the ‘little guys,’ raising awareness and asking the government to protect our pollinators.

A group of Northumberland Wildlife Trust supporters will be heading to the event including Seren and her mother Rhiannon who is Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s Eco Mentor along with many more of our members, volunteers and employees. Join us and add your voice to the call for our politicians to take action for nature!

On day 17 of consider how you can stand up for nature like Seren.

Today is St Cuthbert’s Day, honouring the saint’s passing in 687 AD on Inner Farne Island, off the coast of Northumberland. Within our Reredos, Cuthbert is portrayed holding the head of St Oswald, which rests along with Cuthbert's body at Durham Cathedral.

Tomorrow evening, on Thursday, 21 March, John Grundy will discuss his 'History of Northumberland', which includes an insightful account of St Cuthbert's life and legacy. Tickets are still available on a 'Give As You Feel' basis at ticketsource.co.uk/newcastle-cathedral

Trees
By Joyce Kilmer

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
