We’re looking for nominations for your Sporting Hero with Jewson Falkirk.

Do you know someone who volunteers or works at grass roots level and are dedicated to their sport.
It could be someone volunteering their time running a youth football club, someone who thrives in working with young people in sport, often working in disadvantaged communities and showing the young people what sport can do to enhance their lives. It can be from any sporting background.

Saturday 21st September 2024 - 11am to 4pm The main event this year will take place at the bottom of King Street, in the heart of Stirling's city centre. The main stage will host a variety of music, dance, and drag acts from 11am till 5pm.

The Central FM Local Hero Awards give you a chance for you to nominate a deserving child for The Child of Achievement Award!

This award with Glenbervie House recognises a child who has overcome adversity in their lives. It could even be a child who has fought through a devastating illness and showed incredible resilience for their young age. We are looking for nominations for children and young people aged up to 18.

Falkirk Council is putting forward plans to reduce the school week.

All schools would close at 12:30pm on a Friday.

It would mean a reduction for secondary school pupils of nearly two hours a week.

Alan and Shaz concluded their week of crime writing guests by speaking to Suzy Aspley. She moved to Scotland from South Shields over 30 years ago, and now resides in rural Stirlingshire. She was the winner of 'Pitch Perfect' at the Bloody Scotland Festival back in 2019. Her book 'Crow Moon' is up for the Debut Prize at this year's Festival. 📕
