Welcome to 5 days of inspiration from AmaryllisInfo. Today we feature a range of ideas from Belgian designer Stefan Van Berlo. Stefan created these pieces for students in Paris to explore different ways of styling. We hope that they will inspire you too.

Good morning! Before we begin our week-long inspirations with AmaryllisInfo, here is some feedback about the Just Chrys / Fusion Flowers competition from our judges:
1. Originality is becoming harder and harder to express. Aim for a approach/expression that represents your personal style – even if the idea is not original, if you can put your personality into it, the design can feel more original.
2. Staging can be important, but the design must be able to stand up by itself. E.g. if the design is a headpiece, how does it look when it’s not being worn/styled on a model? By itself, does it demonstrate decisive design decisions? Does the design, by itself, communicate the theme, or does it rely on the model/staging/accessories primarily to convey the title?
3. Focus on ‘design’ and ‘plant materials’ first. If you are considering adding a non-horticultural material or sundry solely to communicate the theme, consider first – is there another way/a
plant material or organic alternative?
4. Professional photography is not necessary but the photos must be in focus. Remember to switch off the automatic flash on your camera/phone for best results.
5. Take a photograph of your design and consider if you need to alter thing in the piece before sending it it. You will often realise that stems have been misplaced or moved.
6. Stay positive and keep trying!

Hi Folks! The latest Fusion Flowers / Just Chrys competition is now officially CLOSED. The judges will now study the entries and the results will be posted on this page some time next week. In the meantime there is only one work to describe the entries we have received - WOW!
Well done and thank you to everyone who entered. We loved the diversity. Now comes the hard part because judging this time is not going to be easy. GOOD LUCK!

We are delighted to announce that the first Fusion Flowers competition for 2022 will be run in conjunction with our friends Just Chrys. It's going to be a VERY different type of competition this time and we are very excited about it. The title will be 'Take 10 Stems!'.... I will post the full instructions later today but, in the meantime, take a look at this little video from the trade show and you will get the idea....

The word is out - Floral Fundamentals is returning for IPM Essen 2018! G-Fresh in conjunction with FDF present an action packed series of demonstrations by some of the Floral Fundamentals Ambassadors. The line-up is a stellar international extravaganza with Stein Are Hansen (Norway) and Alex Choi (South Korea) on stage together for 2 performances. As if that wasn’t enough, there are another 3 demonstrations with Tina Kjær (Denmark), Iza Tkaczyk (Poland), Ivan Bergh (Italy), Harijanto Setiawan (Singapore) and Dmitry Turcan (Azerbaijan). Pictured here are some of the designers this year but next year will be completely different although we are trying to encourage the same comperes - fingers crossed!
