🎥 Of course there isn’t a one size fits all when it comes to the perfect video length for social media.

🌟 However there are some video lengths that typically tend to see better engagement on some platforms, as opposed to others.

✨ For example, it’s been found that people are more likely to watch a 2 minute video on Youtube, as opposed to on Twitter.

🌟 So you need to make sure that you are optimising your video for your audience on each platform.

🎥 Of course the length of your videos shouldn’t be your only concern.

The most important thing is to ensure your content is engaging and worth watching right until the end. 🤩🏆

Remember that social media users have incredibly short attention spans, and you need to do your best to capture their attention within the first few seconds. 🤗

According to FB, 47% of a video’s value is delivered in the first 3 seconds, so make sure you’ve got a great hook! 3️⃣🪝

Testimonials and reviews are such an important part of the buyer’s journey, as your customers need to trust that your product or service delivers what it says it does. 👍🏻

Written reviews can of course be helpful, but video reviews really take it one step further by providing a stronger emotional connection with more trust and credibility. 🎥

If you’re thinking of using video testimonials for your business, here are some factors to consider:

✨ Keep it real. Allow your customers to be authentic in their reviews.

⚡️Pre-plan the questions you want your customers to answer, and send them in advance so they have time to consider their answers.

✨ Give your video testimonial structure with a beginning, middle and end.

CTAs will usually begin with an action verb like: play, download, sign up, get started, learn more.

Online traffic loves video, and consequently the play button is the most clicked on CTA in the digital world! ▶️

Make sure you’re mindful of how you compare yourself to others, and don’t let it hinder your creativity. 🎨

Be careful not to compare your chapter 1 with someone else’s chapter 20. 📖

You’re probably already aware of the most serious effects of sleep deprivation on your mind and body. 😴

However, a lesser known consequence is the impact that it has on your levels of creativity. 🎨

As someone who spent years flying around the world as a flight attendant, I am no stranger to regularly missing a whole night of sleep, and I can personally vouch for the difference a good night’s sleep has on your creative mind. 💡

Here are some of the ways sleep supports your creativity. It helps you to…

▫️increase your focus

If you just think about how wonderfully weird and creative some of your dreams can be, it’s no wonder that some of your most creative thoughts can occur soon after waking up. 🛌

For some people though, they believe in creative insomnia, and that sleep deprivation can actually spark their creativity. ⚡️

From personal experience, that is definitely not the case for me! If you ever saw me after one of my longhaul flights, I was about as creative as a lamppost. 🤦🏻‍♀️

One of my favourite things about the creative industries of photography and videography is how inclusive and supportive everyone is.

When you’re first getting started with creating video content, sometimes it can feel like the process takes an age!

Or even if you’ve been in the game a while, it can still sometimes feel that way! 🙄

If you want the benefits video brings, you’re probably going to have to put in a bit of work. However, it doesn’t need to be a struggle. 🤗

This is the process I follow when creating my own video content for social media. 🎬

This won’t necessarily apply to all kinds of video creation, but it can definitely work well for short-form videos.

Find what works for you and adapt it where necessary. The most important thing is to enjoy the process! 🤪
