Happy New Year to you all from all of us at DH9 Radio!
May 2025 bring you health, wealth and happiness.
As 2024 draws to a close we are looking back on the year and what it has meant for DH9 Radio.
We have won several awards for what we do and have seen a number of changes at the station. The appointment of a brand new volunteer deputy manager has helped to spread the workload and made us more efficient.
Several new shows have been launched, and pilots have been tested. Many of these pilots will be developed into fully fledged shows next year.
We have expanded our appeal to younger listeners while being careful not to forget our older listeners and we have developed a number of shows that use a multiple-host format which has proven to be very popular with the listeners.
Multiple host formats allow for more banter between the hosts and develop a more engaging atmosphere.
We have strengthened our ties with local educational facilities and provide work experience to young people seeking to work in music or media and we intend to continue this outreach into 2025.
As ever our team of volunteers have been great and continue to provide increasingly high-quality content for little to no cost.
Perhaps the biggest change is that we have bid farewell to our old server and control pannel which are being decommissioned by our broadcast service provider Citrus 3.
The old system has been with us since our launch in 2019 but has become increasingly unreliable and prone to technical failures so Citrus 3 have decided to decommission both the server and the software and migrate us to a new server with an all-new software suite to help us continue to deliver quality broadcast content.

Looking forward to 2025 we will be developing several new shows and we will be reducing our reliance on repeats. We have a number of new presenters joining us and we look forward to looking forward to recruiting more volunteer presenters.

We hope to refresh some of the hardware in the studio as technology has come a long way since we set up the studio in 2019 and we look forward to improving our already good sound quality for your enjoyment.
The much-loved talk show "Illuminerdy" will be returning in 2025 with several new "illuminerds" for our panel.
The talk show which discusses SCi-Fi, Comics, Cosplay, Gaming and all things nerdy will be returning for its 9th series! If you would like to be included as a guest panellist or would like to suggest a topic for the Illuminerds to discuss, email us at [email protected] and include the term "Illuminerdy" in the subject line.
We hope to be increasing the use of the DH9 Radio chat room in 2015 too. the chat room provides an extra way for listeners and presenters to connect and helps build a community of radio and podcast lovers.
