Renovation of St Neots Fire Station - B13 Saint Neots Community Fire Station

Renovation work to upgrade St Neots Fire Station, to provide a modern and sustainable facility for crews and the community, has started.
Making use of modern, sustainable technology, such as heat pumps and solar panels, the station will be the first in the county to be completely carbon neutral. There will also be other energy efficiencies included as part of the renovation, as well as electrical charging bays.
Improvements to the station include extensions to the front and rear of the building, bringing a new gym, office and welfare facilities.
Assistant Chief Fire Officer Stuart Smith said: “This is a really welcome renovation to help modernise the station and equip our crews with a much-improved workplace, as well as a better facility for the community. While the work is ongoing, the station will remain operational so the crew will continue to respond to emergencies when they are needed.
“Including modern technological developments, such as heat pumps and solar panels, allows us to ensure we are making our facilities fit for the future and helping reduce our carbon impact. This will help us ensure that we are keeping up with the growth and development we continue to see across our county in a sustainable way.”
Building work is expected to last until summer 2025 and is being carried out by Neville Special Projects, and project managed by Ingleton wood. Every effort will be made to keep any disruption to a minimum and the local community’s patience is very much appreciated.
