It’s Goodbye Green Bin Day. Today is the last time I use the green bin…..but why?
Two reasons, the first is that the charge amounts to an almost 5% increase in my Council Tax bill, and the second is that I can no longer put food waste in the bin.
This means I put it in my grey bin that goes to landfill. This from a household that is very strict about recycling and whose grey bin is just about empty evvery two weeks.
If local government was serious about financial issue can I suggest they think about pension provisions? Roughly 20% of your council tax bill is to cover pensions……there is no business alinventhat can or would survive paying those overheads. It’s why final salary pension schemes ended……except for the few, who can also do a 4 day week!
