“These kinds of explorations have led to me finally making club music that feels fresh and exciting to me. – Wordcolour 🌸

Ana Quiroga's debut album and deeply personal project ‘Azabache’ is out now! 🪄
‘As Above’ is the album’s opening song, connecting neatly with the album’s closing track; together they form the paraphrase ‘As Above, So Below’. Originally found on the Emerald Tablet it was widely used by the Theosophists, who Ana references throughout the project. ‘Azabache’ follows the concept that the macrocosm and the microcosm are whole – where everything is connected, and it follows an overarching story that makes sense through the passing of each magical track.
This post also showcases the work of Estela Oliva, who has created the ‘Azabache’ album artwork and related artwork series. Alongside Ana, they have a brand new audio-visual performance ‘Azabache AV’ which premiered at Sónar Festival this summer.

Out now 🌚 Katie Gately remarkable album 'Fawn / Brute' presents 11 songs of mischief, innocence and experience, scoping the light and darkness of childhood 🌙
Inspired by the birth of her first daughter, Gately’s second album with us here at Houndstooth is one of two halves; moving from the playfulness of early years to the turbulence of teenage angst. A beautiful final product ultimately dedicated to her daughter Quinn.
💭 “When I got pregnant I started to get creative again. I had a lot of energy at first, but later on, my pregnancy was stressful and worrying, so the music got darker and darker: I was making angry music while I was supposed to be feeling maternal" 💭 – Katie Gately

Katie Gately - Fawn / Brute
Today experimental musician and producer Katie Gately returns with a fresh collage of captured sounds, announcing details of her new album 'Fawn / Brute' - Out on March 31.
Along with the announcement she has shared the album’s two title tracks, a double single of the album’s title tracks, “Fawn” and “Brute”.
The new album is 11 songs of innocence and experience exploring the light and dark of childhood energy following the birth of her first daughter. It is an album of two halves, that moves from the effervescence of early years to the defiance and turbulence of teenage angst.
The album is dedicated to Gately’s young daughter Quinn, born in 2021 and single "Fawn", taken from the first half of the album, is a love letter to her. Meanwhile accompanying single "Brute" embodies the darker second half of the record, its massive basslines constructed from the manipulated rattling of cardboard shoeboxes.
