We have been unsuccessful trying to raise the sufficient funds to be able to continue despite our very best efforts and much hard work.

IMAGINE PEACE TOWER is lit annually
• 9th October – 8th December (John's b'day to his death date)
• 21st – 31st December
• 18th February (Yoko's birthday)
• 20th – 27 March
It is lit from around 1 hour after sunset until midnight each night except on John & Yoko’s birthdays and on New Year’s Eve, when it remains lit until sunrise. On 9th October it lights at 8pm and from 20th – 27th March it lights at 9pm.

The Imagine Peace Tower is on Videy Island near Reykjavik, Iceland. Yoko chose this place because, according to her, “Iceland is a magical and beautiful country. The electrical energy source for the country and for the Imagine Peace Tower is geothermal – water, instead of oil."

Here's an amazing story from Bernie Byrne, formerly Bernadette Farrell, who was a Cavern regular who went on to date both George and Paul.

She not only witnessed music history being made but, along with her husband Mike, went on to build The Beatles Story, which has now become the most successful Beatles’ exhibition in the world.

Today (6 July) in 1957 John & Paul met for the first time at The Woolton Church Parish Fete where The Quarry Men were appearing. As The Quarry Men were setting up for their evening performance, McCartney eager to impress Lennon picked up a guitar and played ‘Twenty Flight Rock’ (Eddie Cochran) and ‘Be-Bop-A-Lula’ (Gene Vincent). Lennon was impressed, and even more so when McCartney showed Lennon and Eric Griffiths how to tune their guitars, something they'd been paying someone else to do for them.

Paul made a triumphant return to Glastonbury yesterday, headlining the Saturday evening slot and wowed the audience dueting with a film of John on 'I've Got a Feeling'.

Stu Sutcliffe dies from a brain haemorrhage at the age of 21 on this day 10 April 1962. He played bass (Paul McCartney was on rhythm guitar at the time). He left the band in 1961 to resume painting.

Last month The Beatles Story launched an exciting new addition to their fantastic and ever-growing exhibition - a previously unseen notebook belonging to The Beatles’ Tour Manager Mal Evans.

The rare notebook, compiled between 1967-68, features Paul McCartney’s handwritten draft lyrics for ‘Hey Jude’, a part-lyric for ‘Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band’, recording notes by George Harrison for ‘All You Need Is Love’ as well as lyrics for a number of other songs including ‘For The Benefit of Mr Kite, ‘Good Morning Good Morning’ and ‘All Together Now’.

Filled with original scribbles using brightly coloured ink from John, Paul, George, Ringo and Mal, the notebook offers a glimpse into the ground-breaking era in Beatles’ history when they produced ‘Sgt Pepper’ and ‘The White Album’.
