As I sit here with my beautiful mum, I know many of my best qualities are from her. Resilience, compassion for others, being hilarious (😆), my love of music, and strong sense of justice.

It wasn’t easy for her, having married at 16, first child at 17 and a mum of 4 at just 25. My mum battled through mental health issues most of her life, but she wanted to ensure we never wanted for anything. She and my dad both worked so hard to make their relationship work so we would grow up with them both together. But things weren’t stable. My childhood was a bit chaotic at times. I don’t want other people to think this is ok and something they need to soldier on through with 💔 and certainly not for the (dubious) benefit of their children.

My vision has always been to assist people affordably and effectively to navigate the family courts with minimal conflict, and putting their children first. I have helped hundreds of clients, alongside my other job and now caring for my mum. I have had a particular concern to help people from marginalised communities, people who are more vulnerable due to their background and people who are survivors of domestic abuse 💔 these people are not always able to avail of legal aid, which can be incredibly inhibitive and damaging.

Through my work, I have helped people by making legal advice and support financially accessible, supporting them through the process (emotionally as well as advising them), and I have worked tirelessly to ensure people felt safe / empowered to make post-separation arrangements with their ex for the benefit of their children.

I even expanded my remit to assist people with arranging legal representation for hearings but without the extortionate price tag flaunted by direct access barristers 😳

But my biggest and best achievement will always be that I helped my mum and dad to become friends again years after their acrimonious divorce ❤️ my dad has been an absolute rock for all of us, including my mum, helping whenever he can.

There are so many deserving people in this category. I’d love to win this award but I definitely already won with that 💕🥰 ⬆️

Thank you so much to whomever nominated me for a Flamingo Business Award for my work with , making family law advice, support and representation more accessible and affordable! ⚖️

I’m proud of what I have achieved since I started my business in 2021 💕 as people know, my work has largely been put on hold while I’m caring for my mum but I still have a few clients to support and plan to come back stronger in the new year ❤️

Voting opens at 6pm on Sunday. I would REALLY appreciate your support, especially if I have ever helped you or someone you know - or if you just think the work I have been doing has been invaluable to people who want an alternative to costly litigation (particularly people from marginalised communities and domestic abuse survivors) with an affordable alternative.

Hey folks 🙏💕

This is my lovely mum (and me). My mum is really very unwell. My siblings and I are currently caring for her around our family lives and working, too. It’s a lot. 💔

Consequently, aside from clients I am currently working with, I’ve made the decision to step away from Family Law advice.

I’m sorry but my family and my own health absolutely have to come first.

It has been my intention to shift careers from Family Law to marketing for some time. In time, I hope to return with a new business model, but it won’t be Family Law.

I am closing this business down.

It’s tough being a working parent - I certainly understand that!

This quiz is helpful if you are considering leaving your child at home - whilst there is no legal limit, you never leave babies, toddlers or very young children alone (even if it is just a quick errand!) - and it is against the law to leave a child alone if it puts them at risk of harm.

Well! That’s me completely flummoxed 😶🤣🤯

As outgoing and confident as I come across, I really struggle in some social situations. I have no filter, I often say the wrong thing, I struggle with eye contact and - worst of all - I struggle to read people!

I’m at ahead of my meeting at 12pm.

Beforehand, I’m meeting my friend Natalie Christopher (MD of ) for a catch up ☕️

The last few meetings have gone a bit wrong food wise (not anyone’s fault as such but I’m vegetarian and usually run a little late) so I decided to grab a breakfast and a coffee in the hotel restaurant! I’m not with anyone right now so needed a table for two (hate taking big tables when it’s not needed).

Alas! No cups or cutlery (late breakfast so understandable).

I spotted an older gentleman sitting (seemingly) alone at a larger table so I approached him to ask if he was alone (before asking to take cutlery and a cup) - he jumped in and said no (panicked 😅) his wife was getting some food! I then also panicked 😅 and said “no, no, that’s not what I am meaning!”

He then said he knew what I was asking but he isn’t alone…

Confused, I said, “I just want a cup and some cutlery as there are none on the smaller tables…” 🙈 he then said it was ok to take some 😏

What on Earth did he think I meant? Did he think I wanted to know if he was looking for “some company”? 😆 a wife? Or even just to sit at his table and literally provide some company?

Mate, I just wanted to eat and have a coffee ☕️ 🍉😅🤦🏻‍♀️

Today, I’ve been in Birmingham helping a client representing themselves in a Children matter in the family courts.

It’s been an emotional journey to final hearing but a necessary one.

My client has been incredible. They have taken on my advice and acted with purpose, restraint and clarity. We prepared. We focused on the child and the end goal.

And we “won”. I hate that turn of phrase but this has felt like an all-mighty and unnecessarily fractious battle.

But we got the result. We both cried.

Here is to fighting the good fight for the right reasons. It’s not about being right, it’s about identifying and centring what’s best for the child. Every single issue, the Judge found for us on. Every. Single. One. 🎉

Oh and I was asked to advocate and ask questions of the other side for the first time ⭐️

And now, I’m off home! Birmingham, it’s been beltin’! 💖🙏
