We now focus on Grunge , punk and Alternative Rock , with a heavy emphasis on grunge and that raw , punk vs metal sound.

This week’s Track of the Week is “Obscene” by The Sick Fix.

It’s fast, gritty, and dirty ,soaking in the raw essence of ‘90s grunge while blending in a dash of 2000s indie. You can hear shades of The Libertines, one of their biggest influences, throughout the track.

What’s even more impressive? These lads are still in high school but play with the intensity and skill of well-seasoned veterans. We absolutely love these guys!

🎸 Artist Spotlight: Auroras Hope 🎸

Let me introduce you to Auroras Hope, a powerhouse trio delivering raw, fast, and aggressive alternative rock that hits you right in the chest. The band consists of Gannon (vocals & guitar), Blake (drums), and Ryan (bass) — three musicians driven by a passion for heavy, grungy riffs and emotionally charged performances.

The story of Auroras Hope began in 2015 when Gannon met Blake through his brother. After mentioning he wanted to start a band, he was introduced to Blake, who turned out to be a killer drummer. The two instantly connected and began jamming together. A few years later, they met Ryan at one of their shows. He quickly became a close friend, and when the time came to find a bass player, they knew Ryan was the perfect fit. The rest, as they say, is history.

Auroras Hope channels the spirit of the early ‘90s with a sound often compared to bands like Nirvana, Alice In Chains, and even the darker edge of Tool. But they don’t stop there ,their music has a modern edge, driven by the gritty urgency of bands like Teen Mortgage. Their new album "Flipside" is an absolute storm of intense energy, raw emotion, and unstoppable rhythm ,a must-listen for anyone craving something real and powerful.

With fast, aggressive riffs, pounding drums, and vocals that hit deep, their sound blends the emotional depth of Pearl Jam with the dark grit of Alice In Chains and the punchy, raw energy of Reuben. It’s intense, unfiltered rock that stays with you long after the last note fades.

Looking ahead, the band plans to hit the studio in January to record some fresh tracks and focus on touring more consistently. They’re ready to take their music to the next level, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes them.
