Our Story

Essex Recording Studios - Also known as Disneyland for rock stars! Set in a beautiful Victorian manor surrounded by 600 acres of countryside 30 minutes from London, Essex Recording Studios is unlike any residential recording studio in the world. With over 300 guitars for artists to choose when they record, there are no limits to the sounds & tones you can achieve at the most unique recording experience in England. Producer James Curtis-Thomas is on hand to pilot our SSL Duality console and provide you the choice of any one of over 100 amps and cabs for you to use. Our 120 year old C. Bechstein grand piano sounds amazing in the live room. The full range of Neuman microphonesare on hand along with the very best mic-pre's from API, Neve, SSL, Summit, Focusrite and Empirical Labs to provide world class clarity and colour to your sound. It is our mission to have a constantly rotating selection of the very best instruments & recording gear on the planet for you to enjoy. We are situated 30 minutes from London by train at Hatfield Peverel station & 20 minutes to London-Stansted airport. Full concierge, transportation, food/beverage, room and board are available to all artists who record at our world-famous facility. There is an 8 person spa and fully stocked Life Fitness gym for artists to enjoy surrounded by the privacy of 600 acres of lush English countryside.
