Ramsay MacDonald was Labour First successful Leader to become Prime Minister. The 1923 election was a pivotal achievement with the formation of the first Labour government. The Conservatives called for high tariffs. Labour and Liberals both wanted free trade. Labour leader Ramsay MacDonald formed a minority government with Liberal support that lasted 10 months.

The Labour Party, led by Attlee, won a landslide victory in the 1945 general election, on their post-war recovery platform.

Southend Seafront Walkway from Pier Hill to the Halfway House Pub and Toby Carvery. Plus features. A Premier Inn Hotel Adjacent to the Halfway House Pub and Carvery. At the Thorp bay end.
Walking towards the main seafront is an Array of Pubs, Bed and Breakfast Venues. Including some Delightful Restaurants and Bars.
The Sea-life Centre is Amazing. With an array of other Animals including Mere-Cats and Butterflies 🦋.
Reaching the main seafront we have a Safety Zone especially designed by our Safety Services Such as Southend and Essex Police and City Council. This includes a First Aid Team of who are very kind and ready to assist the Public at all times.
The front features Water Play and Spectacular Lights of all colours and designs. As you walk along there are some delightful Gift Shops, Traditional Fish and Chips Restaurants and Take away. An Amazing Chinese Restaurant and American 🇺🇸 Burger Bar.
We have loads of Arcade’s Many Designed with Children in mind were they can play all types of games and many other Activities. The Seafront has two Crazy Golf Courses. One Traditional that also features a small Children’s Golf Course. The other is connected to the Adventure Island Theme Park. That is also connected to our Famous Pier with railway line and shops plus Food Venues at the end of the Pier.
The Seafront in total has two Premier Inn Hotels. One at the Thorp bay end and the other further along before you reach the main walk way. Of which is equipped with its own bar and Restaurant.
Walking passed the main walkway and Adventure Island towards Leigh on sea is Southend very own Casino.
