⚡️Starting this week! Under 18s Music Club!

Come and join us at Southampton’s most iconic rehearsal rooms - Planet Sounds - every Thursday and Saturday throughout August from 12-2pm.

You’ll get a chance to work with our brilliant music leaders on song writing, performance, production and recording - or just come and hang out out in a safe space, try out some instruments, and meet some new people.

You don’t need to be a musician, it’s FREE and there is no need to book. Under 12s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Planet Sounds Rehearsal & Recording Studios is run by SoCo Music Project, summer sessions funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.

The theme for this month is the importance music rehearsal spaces can play in developing music scenes.

UK Music reports live performances account for almost half of professional musicians’ income compared to just 3% for recording (Strategic Recovery Plan). Realised this week that two of my customers rehearsing this week were not even BORN when I opened Planet Sounds Rehearsal & Recording Studios…

That is a very frightening thought!…

Mark Twain wrote “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day”….
Absolute bollocks…why am I so tired then?..😂

But as if to reinforce why I still love it after nearly 18 years listening to you lot rocking out, I’ve had two goosebump moments this week…1 band rehearsing who shall remain nameless….partly customer confidentiality and partly coz they don’t have a name…

And another moment round at my other house The Joiners…do check out Hunting Hearts if you can and hopefully look forward to an album soon.

Also in a bit of a quandary as to whether its fair to charge a Led Zeppelin tribute band the £25 “No Stairway” fine…🤷🏻‍♂️

Hello people...
Please be aware that from 30th September for 3 weeks or so Planet Sounds will only be open from 7-11 on weekdays and 2-10 on Sundays...

All these years of hu***ng 4x12's and bass cabs around has finally taken its toll and I need a little fix up.

Kaz,Chris and Ed will be looking after things for me for the duration.
Normal service shall resume once I win the argument with the doctors!...

Hey y'all..
If you are headed down to PS today don't forget the Marathon is on till later this afternoon...
Best way to get here is down Kingsland past the park towards Dukes Keep, go through the residents only road block and hang a right into Terminus Terrace...
Its a bit confusing out there so don't get cross with the stewards!
