We aim to offer a professional, personal and tailored service at Maddogs. Our staff have years of experience both filming on location and in kit hire with extensive knowledge for working in broadcast and documentaries. Our kits are build and prepared by camera operators for camera operators with an attention to detail and a level of support 2nd to none. Specialising in supplying kit and crews for

long form documentaries we have sent our kit and crews worldwide from the North Pole to the Weddell Sea, from Desert to Jungle and all extremes in between.

This week we wave a fond farewell to one of the Mad Dogs pack. Craig Hookings, our former apprentice and youngest ever employee has left The Dog House this week for the last time and says he aims to pursue a career outside of our industry.

Craig (formerly Dave then Mini Craig or MC to most) joined our ranks in January 2018 as an apprentice after a reference from his dad, a local cameraman and a highly successful work experience week back in July 2017. He clearly impressed that week as he gained his first Broadcast TV credit as a studio camera operator, aged 15!

MC became a permanent member of staff in January 2018. Over the years, Craig went from being a warehouse technician, to a Runner, to a Camera Assistant and occasionally a DIT. He has also grown facial hair, and a mullet!

Craig holds the record for the most 'emergency vehicle recoveries' required by one employee. Considering he lived 5 minutes from the office, thats a pretty impressive record to hold. It wasn't the most reliable of mopeds...

Careers Day at a Hampshire primary school this morning. Teaching years 4-6 about what its like working in TV. Getting hands on with one of our FS7s, wireless directors montor and wireless boom pole or "Fluffer Muffer" to coin a phase one of the kids called it.
