OUT TODAY ‘Organic September’ issue of @mygreenpod #magazine:
Here is what our editor in chief Katie Hill FRSA had to say about this issue:
There are many moments to celebrate in September; each brings an opportunity for gratitude, but also a call to consider climate justice and look at the current challenges through an intersectional lens.
Organic September asks us to recognise all the people flying the flag for a more sustainable farming system with planetary, human and animal health at its heart – and to acknowledge that producing food this way isn’t easy. Organic farmers and suppliers are currently working against the system with little (or no) support. This means organic produce – widely found to be the healthiest option out there – is often a more expensive option that isn’t available to everyone, while ultra-processed foods are accessible to individuals and families juggling the smallest budgets.
Farming in a sustainable way is key to ensuring global food security as we continue to experience droughts, floods and other extreme weather events. As many as 783 million people currently go hungry – and that’s at a time when there is more than enough food to go around.
Hunger and resource scarcity are key drivers of conflict, and important considerations as we move towards the United Nations International Day of Peace (21 September). This will lead us to Climate Week NYC (22-29), and a solar broadcast from Times Square to celebrate climate action with arts, music and inspiring talks and speeches.
In this issue you’ll find tips on how to live a low-budget organic lifestyle and meet individuals who have devoted their lives to creating a fairer future for everyone. There’s a lot to celebrate and there are many heroes to champion – they’re all working behind the scenes to create the lifestyles we can so easily take for granted.

TIBETAN BUDDHIST CULTURE
Lama Tashi Norbu, a Tibetan Buddhist Monk and artist, embodies a unique fusion of tradition and modernity. Ordained with the name “Tashi Norbu” by Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche, who is considered to belong to the legendary sacred Sky Dancers of Tibet.
Among many other accomplishments, Tashi served as a Thangka Painter under His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s residence. He was recognized for his gifts and sent to the west to study contemporary art evolving then into a contemporary Tibetan artist who skillfully integrates traditional and modern elements to create art in support of his culture.
Devoted to his belief that being a Tibetan Buddhist Monk is a distinctive path for an artist, Tashi utilizes his art as a medium to deepen people’s understanding of Buddhism and help them recognize their inherent virtues. His paintings, rich in magical tales and vibrant imagery, offer insights into Tibetan Buddhism’s living qualities.
Tashi’s commitment extends beyond art; he engages in meditation, live painting performances, sand mandala creations, and even tattooing sacred Tibetan art on individuals based on their astrological charts.
Tashi’s life is a profound commitment to alleviate the sufferings of all sentient beings, rooted in the teachings of Buddha. He actively advocates for the preservation of Tibetan art and culture.
He is the Founder and Creative Director of the only registered Tibetan Museum in the world, the Museum of Contemporary Tibetan Art based in the Netherlands. His global activities and support for women’s rights in Tibet highlight his dedication to compassion and service.
Tashi’s influence extends internationally, with his paintings exhibited in numerous galleries and museums worldwide. His current vision is to open a museum in the United States similar to the one he founded in the Netherlands. #tibet #tibetan #tibetanbuddhism #sacredmusic #tibetanchants #chant #mantra #mantras #budism #buddist #tib
🌱 THE EVOLUTION OF SUSTAINABILITY 🌱
Last week the @thersaorg @rsa_events brought together two amazing artists @aymusik who was hosting this event and @ven.tashi_norbu who was presented with an RSA Fellowship for his #sacredart. Bringing one of the most contemporary artists AY and one of the most ancient and sacred is perhaps the concoction for what’s required now to really make a difference in our ever changing World. Both artists oooz #culture through music. This Monday Lama Tashi will be 8th. Do you think or feel bringing the ancient and the modern could be a remedy for success?
