You can chuck this on repeat at the moment because my clients in the past MONTH have hit some serious highs!

🫶🏼 When I take rest, and encourage us all to rest, great things happen on the other side!

💪🏻 The resilience that’s showing up as a result of learning to trust their bodies.

🙌🏻 The understand of their own bodies to allow restful period AND to know when it’s GO TIME!

🔥 The grit and determination to show up for themselves in every way possible!

I’m in awe! 🫢 I am proud 😊 And I stand by the fact that January is still winter, we’re now even getting started yet!!

We’ve got it all wrong!
We DO want independence and autonomy we DON’T want to do ‘it all’

Because somewhere along the way ‘it all’ has become a list of chores, an itemised list of stuff to remember.

But ‘it all’ could also be being everything you need.

Being able to trust your gut, not need another opinion to make a decision, knowing what clothes you want to wear today because YOU like them, not caring what other people think because YOU are ok with what you’re doing.

Celebrating yourself could be the start.

Instead of waiting for someone to tell you that you look nice, did well, said the right thing- trust yourself to have done the right thing, chosen based on your likes and dislikes and that you said what you said.

Trust yourself enough to stop overthinking it and be ok with what you can’t control.

Focus on what you can control and that comes from within you.

As your coach, I promote this every session- choices to make based on how you feel, conversations that prompt you to take up more space and step into the real you.

And all this while we lift weights and get physically and mentally resilient!

What if that’s how your kids see you?
What if that’s how the people who love you see you?
What if comparing yourself to shiny, carefully edited images is an unfair benchmark?
What if the way you look is NOT what people love about you?

Try and see yourself through the eyes of the rest of the world and you’ll realise that the way you look is the least interesting thing about you 😘

Christmas / New Year 24 was not as I expected. But in so many ways, much more of a lean in to rest and recovery than I’ve ever had to do!
Some absolutely amazing moments in between going back to bed. I was struggling with the ‘rush’ that the rest of the world seems to love in January, I’m not there, I have goals, plans and desires for the year ahead, but I’m in no rush for big action. Feeling VERY much the opposite. So let’s see where that goes shall we?

But like 99% of the way the fitness industry runs….. it’s time to freshen it up!

Adding my two cents into the January goal setting world….. after listening to The 10X Rule on audiobook while I sprinted on a spin bike back in October….. I heard say something that stopped me.

Your goals aren’t big enough.

Because when you set ‘achievable’ and ‘realistic’ goals - like I have been doing my whole life- when you achieve them there’s no 🎈🚀🔥🤯🚨 it’s pretty mediocre actually.

To assume that we’re unmotivated by anything too big is doing you a disservice! In the same way telling yourself you need something to crack the whip to make you get there- untrue if you actually ask yourself deep down!

So if you weren’t setting something realistic and achievable…. If you were to blurt out whatever is written on your heart however big it is…. What will it be?

No losing face when you don’t get there. No disappointment when you fall short- because even there you are still wayyyyyyyy past that mediocre achievable goal you set.

Maybe 2025 is the year you surprise yourself- I know that’s my aim!

If you’re not sure you have one for the goal you’ve set, check in and ask yourself these questions….
- who benefits from me achieving this?
- how do I want to feel when I’ve achieved this?
- where am I at right now? How will that look a year from now?
