"I was introduced to Girlflix right from the start. I love the fact there is a space for women only. It provides a lovely safe environment where we can let loose and have a great time on the dance floor. The vibes are high, relaxed and super fun! I’m really looking forward to playing at the Cellar bar on March 29th as it’s a fabulous and intimate vibe.

I’ll be playing vocal house and breaks with some live vocals thrown in for good measure. Think, Moloko, Groove Armada, La Roux, Purple Disco Machine, M People

Welcome to the energy, welcome to - Zoe Hart has been behind the scenes producing tracks, running her own events, singing live and DJing across the globe since 1999. Holding residencies at clubs such as Torture Garden, Fist, Party Proactive and Polysexual to name but a few!

Although known as The *Ting* for many years playing Harder styles of music, she now plays a HUGE mixed bag suitable for any time of night.

“I first found out about GirlFlix through a fantastic social media campaign back in May 2023 and was elated that a club night run by women for women had been created in Sussex.

I’m really looking forward to playing the last set on Friday the 29th of March at the Cellar Arts Club at GirlFlix - Le***an & Q***r Women Dance Party No7. I feel that this more intimate venue will suit my choice of vibe.

Expect to be taken on a progressive, melodic house & techno journey which will layer goosebumps on your goosebumps. I’ll be closing the night with lots of melodic treats including, Eli & Fur, The Temper Trap, Orbital, Marsh, Tinlicker and Reflekt.

There will be a few familiar classic trance tunes which have been reimagined that will take you back to a time and place of pure joy and happiness. I look forward to sprinkling my rhyme dust of joy all over your lovely ears, catch you soon, Tinks x”

Tinks started dabbling on the decks back in the early 90’s with a huge passion for house, garage & trance.

She gained a Friday night residency at a Le***an night called ‘Fresh’ at the club above the Pavilion Tavern (Brighton) which was extremely popular on the scene.

Fast forward to the 2000’s…. A DJ butterfly reborn from a Covid chrysalis. The passion is back with a vengeance.
Vocal House is her passion but she also plays a lot of bass house, melodic house & techno and indie dance.

Tinks had the honour of playing for SiZe owner Lola DJ at Block in 2021, a long running Techno night in Brighton. In 2022, she gained a Friday night residency thanks to Dulcie Danger playing Vocal House at Charles Street Tap.

In the same year she also played in the official Pride Parade and also Waterbear for MINT and Zahara nightclub for SiZe, also for Pride.

In 2023, she played several gigs in Brighton including Block Brighton with a Thursday residency playing 90’s classics, r&b and pop.

The absolute highlight was being invited by Sami Capaldi to play the Womens’ Tent in Preston Park for Brighton Pride Fabuloso. Brighton Pride Sunday included gigs on the balcony above Patterns for Charles Street Tap and the closing set for the North Laine Brewhouse.

Hello ! I am Steph - the creator of many things including GirlFlix… But why???

After having lived in Brighton for many years, I moved out of town, across the border into West Sussex. Yet I found there was no real q***r community and all events were in Brighton. So I decided to start new group for this audience. I had 3 main reasons to start this:

1) All events where Brighton way and I wanted to create and discover things to do west of Hove and beyond

2) To create a platform, for people that had moved out of Brighton and was missing the community. To connect and create.

3) Many people don’t get on with the Apps and prefer real life. So I thought creating events and opportunities to meet people in a relaxed and friendly environment would be the best way forward to meet that special someone.

And so we begun. A few years on the group now has about 250 members. After hosting a variety of events I felt there was still something missing and I was desperate for a good dance! Gone are the days of CandyBar, yet there are still a lot of le***an and q***r females that want to dance and connect. There was really nothing outside of Brighton, apart from a disco once every 3 months in Shoreham and JD’s in Worthing. Although these are great and should be supported, I wanted something different… so I thought, “Well if it doesn’t exist, I will create it!” So I did and was born. A place to have fun and dance.

Lucky my skill set as a creative graphic and digital designer helped a lot. has been established since 2004 and I have worked on all sorts of projects from branding, brochures, promotions, websites, social media and events, including the recent Shoreham Summer Festival. So I could have the idea and bring it to life quickly.

However I hadn’t done a DJ club night before so I did reach out to some friends for advice and support. DJ Tor Lloyd has been a massive help and given me some real gems of advice. Also Roni Guetta and Wie Jus have been available for random questions in regards to kit and set up.

So next was to get some DJs and a venue. So I put a shout out and asked any female / q***r DJs that where interested in joining the GirlFlix family to fill in this form so I have their info for this and future events: https://forms.gle/32rhkPiD2iRo17bY6

I have always been a massive fan of Traumfrau Brighton - not just music but live performances and art. If I could get something like that with personally and character, that would be amazing. So I went on the hunt for some suitable venues and came across Cellar Arts Club CIC and I loved it!! Just what I was looking for. A real community hub. As a charity all funds raised are channeled back into the venue to support others to hold a variety of events. The space and decor is fun and creative, and the size if perfect for my venture. I love the fact that they support us and in turn we support them! Perfect.

So a date was set, Sat 11th Feb 2023, and is now fast approaching. Everything is in place. Tickets are sold. DJs booked in….. Now it is in the hands of the gods!

So that is the who, why and what of it. The first gig is gonna be a massive achievement and with tickets sold out in December, the community definitely supports it and wants it.

Let’s hope all goes well and I can get the next one booked in!
